This is the BEST way of prepping mash. I’ve tried them all. This way, with an electric beater is brilliant. This way of cooking prevents water logged potato. Later, adding Lancashire cheese or white cheddar is a good switch up. ❤❤

If making for children use fruit juice instead of alcoholic liquor and you might have to make it without cherries.

Unless you're as experienced a cook as Delia, beware of using a hand mixer for mashed potatoes. If over mixed, you will end up with glue. FYI>

I’ve definitely found that to be the case with a food processor. If, however, you use a hand mixer on low speed, glugginess can be avoided. 40-60 seconds with 4 cups of ready-to-mash spuds: too much potato & some is over mixed leading to the dreaded glug

I was taught only cold water for boiling potatoes . Hot water on raw potatoes messes with the starch

If you close your eyes and listen to her, you would not know that she's a woman of significant age on this video. I imagine her voice as that of Lara Croft's from the Tomb Raider Reboot series of games

Funnily enough, she's 80 now, and was on the radio recently. She still sounds very youthful. Her mum was over 100, so we're hoping she beats that!
