This was a really cool video idea, I didn't even know this romhack existed. I was actually thinking about how much I wished there was a TCG game that had the Neo cards a few days ago. That said, it is kind of a drag that they mostly just made up new cards inspired by the Neo sets instead of including the actual cards, especially since most of them wouldn't have really taxed the programming of the Game Boy Color or anything

The Romhacking of this Game is Very New, Literally this Hack came out at the beginning of this Year and although curious things can be done, for now it is not 100% Possible to recreate the Neo Genesis Cards (Mainly The Pokepower).

This game looks so fun! I love the little changes and hope to see more, and in hopes of no one else saying this. The Crystal cards are special gimmick ones meant to change typing with each new energy type put down to counter for weakness, playing into this all with odd multicolor attack costs. They, kinda sucked irl but in this game majorly buffed it seemed to make them playable! And with this in mind, ever thought of a solo Kingdra run? It is quite a unique and fun pokemon.

This is awesome. Been following the Rom's creation on pokemon community since 1.02 and it has honestly come a long way. I know the creator is working on version 1.3 which will bring balance changes and some new "attacks". So here is hoping they keep working on this rom as the future for it looks even brighter now.

If we were to take the anime into consideration, Santa Clause uses Ponyta for his reindeer. Depending on how you feel about the rule set, you could use 3 ponyta and 2 rapidash.

I can't say I was a fan of this game, not enough Matthew for me. And of course, it's insane they didn't put any Parasects in there either. That Delibird card in the actual game is kind of nuts, though, because it'll probably keep healing your opponent. There's one to do a challenge with.

This ROM hack is cool, but I do wish the cards were the same as their real-life counterparts, instead of being re-balanced. Amazing work on recreating the card art though. Also, I like how the Grand Masters use Crystal Pokemon, cause IRL Crystal Pokemon are terrible. Despite having an interesting mechanic tied to them, and the cards going for a lot these days, they were never competitive.

Well Mr paraspecter, I've been thinking of a challenge idea because I also like challenge runs in pokemon tcg gbc as I have commented to you before. The latest challenge I've thought up was building a deck with the WORST pokemon possible. Seems simple enough, right? Well, first we must decide what "the worst" pokemon cards are. There are many contenders in single evolution lines, but as what I will call the haymaker theory would dictate early gen evolution lines are typically worse to stack your deck with than strong basic pokemon. If diminishing returns makes pokemon worse for this I will stipulate that to be a worse pokemon it must have a line with stage 2 pokemon. After evaluating the 2 stage lines for the worst of the worst I would say as a starting point the oddish and kabuto lines would be the two worst. Oddish is passable but does not gain much momentum. Vileplume is just awful with negative synergy between its attack and pokemon power. Gloom is the stand out (and perhaps the best card available to this deck) with its ability to auto poison and confuse. Mysterious fossil has its utility, and kabuto gets surprisingly utility from its pokemon power despite its 30 hp but kabutops is a real stinker with a paltry 60 hp for a stage 2 card plus expensive attacks. I might also include the gengar line here too ONLY if you limit it to base set ghastly and haunter (as the fossil versions are pretty good), however, Gengar is significantly better than kabutops or vileplume so it's up for debate. For seasoning I'd also throw porygon in the mix too as a deck filler Colourless even though it doesn't evolve just because it is so abysmal. If anyone thinks there is a worse 2 stage evolution line than kabuto and vileplume please let me know what and why, I'd love a good challenge. So with that in mind my worst pokemon challenge deck is based on the kabuto and oddish line. In my playthough Courtney with her legendary moltres deck gave me the most resets.

P.S. P.S You know there is a randomizer for the original GBC tcg game? It switches the attacks that require the same amount of the same type of energy. That could be used for maybe a paras and parasect only challenge?

I'm pretty sure that's only what the modern Ace Spec Master Ball does... not the original one that was just look at the top 7 and that's not what the Professor Elm card did... I'd much rather play a version of the rom hack that uses exactly what the cards do
