I recently purchased this Spacegear L400. Never sold in North America, this one is 25yrs old and ready for import!!
I'll review it, take it out for a spin, and even go into 4WD mode for some off-roading. See for yourself if this Spacegear is worthy of taking on the Delica mantle!

Year: 1995
Color: Black
Mileage: 95,220 miles
Engine: 4M40 2.8L Diesel
Transmission: Automatic
Seats: 7
Additional Features: Grill guard, running boards, captain's chairs

I have found that these require a lot of work (many of the original parts were faulty and eventually updated by Mitsubishi) by experienced mechanics after procurement to diagnose each issue. However, once all the worn parts are replaced, they run well for a long time. I think the engine and entire experience is fantastic.

Cool. Very great engine. This version of the 4M40 has never been available in europe, only the one with 125 HP and 292 NM. Would be so glad to get some more specs of this engine and drivetrain. Do you know where I could have a look at it? Was this stronger 4M40 version applied in the Pajero as well?

It's in Japanese, but hopefully google translate does a good job :) eng.greeco-channel.com/engine/mitsubishi-4m40/ And yes, the latter model 2nd gen Pajeros had the same 4M40 w/ 140HP (technically 140PS). 3rd gen came w/ the 3.2L 4M41.

@@MyRetroVans Very cool!! Thank you so much. Yes this is helpful! Do you know where I could have a look at a chart which figures out torque over rpm's? I would also be interested in a ratio list. I guess one option was the V5M31 manual gearbox, but the power versions of the 4M40 may had different final drive gear ratios. Some rumors say they were available with 5 speed AT in addition to that..?
