Delicious Jorda Semai Anyone Can Make
Ingredients:
¼ cup ghee
1 tbsp raisins
1 tbsp pistachios
1 tbsp almonds
2 small cinnamon sticks
5 bruised cardamom
160 gm semai/ vermicelli (broken)
1 cup hot water
¾ cup sugar
¼ cup milk powder
kewra water
Instructions:
1. In a pan, add in ghee, followed by raisins, pistachios and almonds - stir.
2. Next, take out the ingredients minus the ghee - put the pistachio mixture aside.
3. Then in the ghee, add cinnamon sticks, cardamom, followed by semai.
4. Use a spatula to mix everything around and together; fry until brown for 6 to 8 minutes.
5. Whilst continuously stirring, add in sugar (make sure to evenly spread around the entire pan) and then use your spatula to thoroughly mix everything together.
6. The sugar should now be dissolved into the semai.
7. Place the lid of the pan on, and cook the semai for 5 minutes on low heat.
8. After 5 minutes, put in milk powder and mix until it dissolves into the semai.
9. Next, sprinkle your previously prepared pistachio mixture on top of the semai.
10. Also, sprinkle a few drops of kewra water as well as rose water too - cook for another 5 minutes on very low heat.
11. After 5 minutes, mix the jorda semai together.
12. Your delicious jorda semai is now ready!
