The recipe on her website isn't identical to the one in the video, so I transcribed it for myself: 500 grams sweet potatoes steamed 100 grams oats 100 grams almond flour 6 tablespoons raw cacao powder 12 Medjool dates pitted 2 tablespoons coconut oil 6 tablespoons maple syrup pinch of salt Preheat oven to (180 degrees C) 356 degrees F In a food processor, put in the 500 g softed sweet potatoes and combine with the12 pitted dates. Add all the rest of the ingredients to the food processor. Process until very smooth. Use parchment paper or coconut oil for pan and smooth the batter into the pan. Put it in the oven. Icing: Make while the brownies cool Use a medium sized or small pan. 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder 2 tablespoons coconut oil 2 tablespoons almond butter 1 tablespoon maple syrup Melt down the ingredients and put pan in the fridge for a couple of minutes so it solidifies a bit and isn't as runny. Take brownies out of the tray. Then pour the somewhat cooled sauce from the pan on top of the brownies and smooth over. Let this sit for a little bit so the icing completely sets and then slice it into servings.

I roasted the sweet potatoes and let them cool. I doubled your recipe. I didn't have madjool dates, just regular small pitted dried dates in the bag, so I used about 18 of them softened with boiled water. I used the date water when the batter was getting too thick for the pulse blender. For the frosting, I used peanut butter, which made it-a bit salty so I added monk fruit sweetener and some maple syrup. Next time I will use salt free peanut butter or almond butter if on sale. THEY ARE DELICIOUS! Even my husband likes them. Although the coconut does come through a but, which I like though he's eh about it., he finished them lol All in all A GREAT RECIPE! THANK YOU ELLA 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Lisa from Sydney

I modified the recipe a bit :) 1. Instead of steam -> roast sweet potatos 2. Added shot of weak espresso (also this helps in blending) 3. Added spices: tonka bean, nutmeg, cinnamon (1/3 tea spoon each spice) 4. Added melted chocolate inside the cake

Very high because dates are concentrated in carbs while the almond are high in fats. They’re healthier than normal brownies though so I’d just make these but without the icing.

Btw if you’re not vegan, you can mess around with egg yolks. That really helps make brownies fudgy, while the whites will make them more cakey.

@mattierosss
@mattierosss 8 жыл бұрын
I used a little less than a cup of raisins. You can use more or less depending on how 'raisin-y' you want it. Just soak them in water for a few minutes to make them soft. Funny, the last batch I only had a half cup of raisins and needed something else gewy and sweet to make up for the lack so I added a half ripe banana and it turned out great also.

I just made a coconut and agave free version for my boyfriends birthday + I added about 2 cups of water + replaced the agave nectar with erythritol (which lowers the calorie count and is better for the teeth, it also not harmful like the concentrated sugar) + I cooked the sweet potatoes without cutting them and afterwards peeled the skin. This saves a lot of the taste For the sauce + I melted 70% dark chocolate with some peanut butter (fits very well to the sweet potatoe taste) Great thing to add: next time I will freeze up some bananas and then blend them. This will make fantastic ice cream that is perfect in addition to the chocolate peanutbutter flavor - YUM!

These came out really good. Chocolaty, moist, rich, healthy. I didn’t add any sugar in the base except dates. The batter was too thick for Vitamix to blend so I had to add water. The total baking time was 60 minutes (!). Next time I’ll need to figure out the right blending method so no need to add water, may be then it will take less time to bake. Keeping the recipe.

I thought that some people should know that this recipe is very healthy for a very sweet brownie. If you look on the list of healthiest sweeteners to most unhealthy, real maple syrup is better than cane sugar and even agave nectar + it's less processed. Also dates and sweet potato aren't sugars you should be very concerned about because they have other healthy nutrients and also they are attached to fibre which means your blood sugar levels won't rise then take a drastic fall.
@4BWVan
@4BWVan 5 жыл бұрын
Beth I wish it was true about dates, but it's not. If you look at the amount of sugar vs the amount of fiber, they are not even close to equal. Only ONE date has 16 grams of sugar, vs 1.6 grams of fiber. ONE medjool date has as much sugar in it as a cup of Captain Crunch sweetened cereal. There are TWELVE in this recipe. To say that this recipe is "healthy" is crazy LOL. I am diabetic, and I know what makes your sugar go up and what doesn't. These brownies would send anyone's sugar straight to the moon.

Warning: When the page opens, it does not open directly in the recipe. Go to RECIPES search in SWEETS and finally find that recipe. There are errors in the description of the ingredients: water from a can of chickpeas, coconut milk in the topping ingredients, 1 teaspoon of cacao (instead of the 2 tablespoons)...Carefully watch everything! Anyway I wasted considerable time on this! My advice take a paper, a pen and write as you watch the video, pause whenever necessary !!! Much faster!
