Her voice is absolutely incredible. Caught them at the 'Capital Jazz Fest' at the Merriweather Post pavilion (DMV area) many years ago, and they absolutely shut the concert down. Best performance on the bill that day, which included many heavy hitters. But, the BNH blew them all away! This groove with the off timing rhythm of the drummer, that wah, wah guitar, steady keys, and funky smooth bass line are nothing but magical. This groove will NEVER get old.

Very warm feelings hearing this song, me and my Mother use to listen to this during the late 80's early 90's on her way home from work. Great memories, I love music that helps me reminensce. This song was out before Mary J Blidge debuted. That's a long time ago. Tracy Spencer, Karyn White, Peebles, Cherelle, Vesta, Stephanie Mills, a young Regina Belle, and the GREAT Anita Baker, all ruled the airwaves during this time...not to mention "I like your smile" Shanice. Now that I think about it Brandy hadn't debuted yet. But as you can see the lineup was SOLID TALENT and the last generation of "True Musicians.'

Hi jdilly1000.,Thank you so much for pointing out the origins of this fabulous track, which I never even knew! And CHENICE "I like your smile" is a track I too used to hear alot on Kiss-FM in the early 1990s! In fact,it is a certainty that it too is listed in my hugely extensive Exclusive Kiss-FM chart archives I have stored away here in my Fireproof safe (from which the singular chart disclosure was made at the top of this comment page). Best Wishes James

James Turner No problem brother, I'm glad to have come in contact with someone from that era who also is "Enthusiastic" about old school music from the 80's and 90's. Here's a short list of one's you may want to look up for old times sake....Carolyn Wheeler-"I adore you." Loose Ends-"Watching you." Stevie Wonder-"Ordinary pain." Vannesa Williams-"Darling I." Aretha Franklin-"Ever changing times." THE GREAT Anita Baker-"Giving you the best that I got." Alyson Williams "Sleep talk." SOS Band "The Finest." Alexander O' Neal-"Sunshine." Peebles-"Mercedes." Shanice- "It's for you." Luther Vandross-"She won't talk to me." Johnny Gill-"Giving my all to you." These are just a few that you can look up right here on You Tube and your guaranteed to have a blast from the past! Have fun brother, if there's a song you can't call to mind let me know, maybe I can help. Take care Bro!

jdilly1000 Hey jdilly, you forgot greats like Freddie Jackson, lillo Thomas, Sherick, Mantronics, Mtume, The Winans, Glenn Jones, Will Downing, Sharron Red, and still going strong today Lahla Hathaway ! Just seeing your list of true artists instantly bought back emotional memories, some happy, some sad but all still as fresh as the day they were created, it makes me weep to see the shite that masquerades as musical talent today, they ain’t got nothing on our era !
