Just back from our month holiday , lovely to see you on the beach. The weather when we were there was not the best, oh…the rain! The beach is lovely and we walked at least 15 km every day along it, so gorgeous. We never did eat out….i am a diet controlled diabetic so much of that yummy food is off limits. A lot of the food is cheaper there, with ground beef at less than $5 CAD a pound. The butter killed me…but I bought it anyway. Condo prices a great and we were impressed. Sadly our holiday was cursed with illness and bad weather….and a very nasty virus when we got home (darn those airplanes). We may have to try again…. Happy you’re living your best life!

My family and I stayed at the Condo’s next to Valero over Christmas and New Years two years ago. It was one of the most low stress Holiday vacations I’ve ever had. We stayed 10 days for a family of four in a 2 bed condo over Xmas/NYE flying out of JFK and the most expensive day was the hotel stay in JFK. Total was less than $9k and we didn’t skimp one bit, with tourist excursions and eating out. I can’t recommend Cabarete enough. Side Note: the supermarket down the alley, and mobile laundry pickup / dropoff with Laundry Tejada was excellent and reasonably priced.

2024 has been a record year on rains in the DR. "Winter" in the Dominican Republic used to be the "dry season". Clear blue skies, soft weather (temperature hights about 27° Celsius), and not rain at all between november and the next may. That was the usual weather for generations, but things changed a couple of years ago: 2022, 23, 24. Climate change for sure!

Please tell me that cabarete is cheaper than punta Cana? When I was there renting a place in Cana Rock Right next to the hard Rock hotel. It was like between $50 and $80 just to get from there to the jumbo grocery store and back by taxi and Uber was not allowed inside of that housing complex and groceries were even more expensive than in America and some cases. The rent for the place that I was staying in for the month was $3,000 a month. Ridiculous. It was like the same prices if not higher in some aspects as South Florida where I'm from
@DelightfulTravellersКүн бұрын

I love watching your shows, especially the DR! We went to Cabarete in 2018 and love seeing how it’s growing. We hope to move back with our two young kids. Only concerned of the prostitutes and trafficking in sosua area… maybe it’s cleaned up by now. You are a humble and sweet couple- fun and informative to watch! Thank you 😊
@ParteraQuisqueyanaКүн бұрын
You will never come across those issues unless you seek it or act carelessly. Just stay away from Sosua and you’ll be fine. And yes, there are many efforts on cleaning up that area. I really can’t think of how a regular family would be exposed to that; it’s mostly underground activity.
