"Delilah" - on Viscount RBX-850

Some people might think it is almost sacrilege to cover a Tom Jones song on the small underpowered Viscount organ. But nonetheless this is what I am doing in this video. I have, however, souped up the sound a little with my Boss ME-50 multi effect unit.
I hope you don't dislike it too much.....

I have never heard anyone say covering anything by the likes of Tom Jones is "sacrilege". To be honest I think Delilah is a bit of a cheesy song anyway and I prefer your tamed down arrangement. I did my backing version on my Yamaha PSS-790 way back in 1995 but I'm aware some people get righteous indignation over anyone who dares to cover anything by the likes of The Beatles, Rollings stones or Queen.

I have been making these videos for 15 years now and in my experience people can get upset over pretty much anything. However, there seems to be two kinds of music that some people believe never should be covered by anyone playing any kind of electronic instruments: 1) "Emotional" music - like French chansons or music written for acoustic solo piano. There seems to be an understanding that only elderly French singers with a creaky voice can truely interpret the pain and sorrow in a French chanson and the most verbal abuse I have ever gotten in the comments was when I performed a piano piece on my Elka EP-8 organ with rhythm. I think the rhythm was what made some people cross. 2) Any song by artists considered "untouchable" or with godlike status. I can mention Queen - because we are not worthy to touch the earth that has once been inhabited by his highness the almighty overlord Freddy Mercury, Kraftwerk - actually I don't know why, and off course the Beatles - because they were the first, the best, the most brilliant, and there hasn't been made any proper music since April 10th, 1970. In the same way I assumed that Tom Jones had a sort of "untouchable" status. But maybe I was wrong. I haven't had any complaint so far.
