Geese are pretty good at warning/alerting things. They use them in prison in South America to warn on convicts trying to escape. They have lots of geese on a perimeter fence (blocked in by another fence/wall) and whenever someone approaches the fence they start honking and sounding off lol. So it alerts all the guards immediately. They notice people from far away and will come running and honking. They have 10x better night vision than humans and it costs FAR less than technology or additional guards or dogs.

While geese really don't do any damage (they don't peck or anything) they are aggressive and will chase fly up at you... and often times people try to run away from them and trip/fall and that can result in an injury (broken bone, hit head, twisted ankles, etc.). Kind of like donkeys with protecting sheep/cattle, etc. They are cheaper than dogs, live longer, are cheaper to feed, they have excellent eyesight, are EXTREMELY territorial, will kill coyotes, dogs, and lone wolves, etc. and have a very distinct and noisy hee-haw that alerts farmers.
