Is the Dell better than the Samsung Odyssey G5?

Truthfully, I don't know. The G5 is 165Hz, 1ms, as opposed to the Dell 144Hz and 2ms. The G5 is on sale right now for about $330 (amazon and samsung sites). The Dell is $299 on Dell's site (and Amazon) and I think the Dell has more USB connections. Both seem to be VA panels. The Dell has a 4.6 rating vs 4.3 on Amazon. You also will need a slightly more powerful card if you want to push 165 vs 144 especially at these high resolutions. I'd say they are about equal on paper but I think the Dell has a better stand for height adjustability and is 10% cheaper.

​@@TomsVarietyShow ​@TomsVarietyShow Thanks for answering my question. I just bought the Samsung Odyssey for $229 black Friday deal at Walmart. I am having doubts after seeing the Dell with the better stand and USB ports. The Samsung has a deeper curve. It's a tough decision.

Nice! I see it for $319 right now on their site. It's an awesome monitor. Requires a beefy GPU to push in AAA titles though.

Just picked this up for $349.00 will be here tomorrow... I have a triple setup with 27's but playing other games than racing sucks so hoping this monitor is good enough for game's like Dayz,Scum and single player games.

@@TomsVarietyShow I have the 6950 Xt paired with the 5800X3D Cpu ... It's a decent GPU and for the price got it under $500 I'm happy with it only downside to it is that it's power hungry

$349 is a steal....but DP1.2 sucks bad (can't do 144hz HDR, not even full 10bit SDR...although the HDR is kinda useless anyway on this one) anyway the review is kinda useless, lot of ultrawide reviews are "I just got my first ultrawide, wow" instead of actual reviews I have 3440x1440 since 2015 so no need to sell me on ultrawides ;o]
