I really like this laptop as it is cheap, but fast enough for teaching where I need extended screen on an HD projector, and the 1TB hd is nice too. However I have noticed since the beginning, color bleed on the edge of the top bezel of the screen. The top few millimeters are for sure darker than the rest of the screen. I also hate that the backlit keyboard turns off after like 10 seconds if you don't use it, but there is no way to extend that time in settings. I think this is a great option if you need a work laptop that you will mostly keep plugged in, but if you also need a bit of power for photo/video editing or multiscreen display. Not good for gaming, but will do everything else super fast! I once had 21 chrome tabs open in the background and it didn't skip a beat. Basically if you want the work efficiency and display quality of a 15inch macbook, but you want to spend less than 1000 dollars. I feel that for the price point, I can overlook its shortcomings, and for the price difference between this and a macbook, the macbook really doesn't offer that much more value.

Any 7th gen or later laptop with atleast 16 GB RAM (or upgraddable to 16GB) and an SSD will work for your need. 8 GB will struggle. And definitely do not settle for a laptop with HDD.

That's weird. Mobile CPUs can withstand high temperature but if they stay at high temps for a long time than it will damage the CPU but crashing might be some other issue related to software or may be hardware. Contact Dell Support.

Gaming is good. I recently started playing Far Cry 3 and Far Cry Primal at 720P. Works very well. You can even play GTA 5 title without any lag. Heating is an issue with this laptop. So don't play games for longer. If you want to buy a laptop for Gaming, don't think about this one. It's for casual gamers.

Hello, I have been using this laptop (7560 i7) for 3 months now. so far no problems like screen bleed. I am playing GTA5 and the resolution was automatically set to 1600 x something I think. there is no lag if I cool the laptop by placing it in an inclined position and use a pedestal fan to directly blow air under the laptop. otherwise it gets reeeeeaaalllyyyy hot and the game lags. but the fan does an awesome job. there is almost no heat & the game is very smooth. I suggest people to try this I have 5 questions : 1 Will I get the same effect if I use a 4 fan cooler which is around 1500rs? 2 I don't know how much fps I am getting while playing. Please instruct me how to get the fps in the left upper corner like how you get *during gameplay. 3 I have been charging the laptop when to goes down to 20% and as high as 80 to 90% since it is widely believed that it could increase the battery's life span. As a result of this I am able use the laptop for 2.5 hours tops(internet, videoplayback and music)as I am using only 60% of the battery's capacity when its not in charge. Now, would you recommend that I continue to do this? though there's a dell battery lite app ( i only plug in only when i play games to get the max fps or it lags and also when there's less power when i watch movies for a longtime) . 4 I am using the mcafee antivirus that came with 15 months free subscription. i have filled the HDD and SSD with 263 gb of data put together. it takes about 25-35 mins on an average to complete a full scan. During this, the processor's speed clocks to 3.5ghz which consumes the battery upto 28% from full charge. Is this kind of battery consumption normal? 5 I use the battery saver all the time except while gaming and designing (it runs on ac supply so there's no power saving there) So will the battery's life/ laptop's performance be permanently affected is i constantly use battery saving mode? That's it. Thanks.

So I bought this laptop 2 years ago (you can refer to my first impressions in my original comment from 2 years ago). I am still extremely happy with it. The only thing that has gone wrong , is a crack in the lower part of the hinge right in the middle, but that is because I carry the thing around from classroom to classroom and from home to work every single day. The hinge still works perfectly fine, it just looks bad. The other thing that is annoying is where the metal meets the inside plastic where the keyboard and trackpad are. After quite a bit of typing or gaming, your armhair and or skin gets caught in the little gap inbetween and its just sharp an uncomfortable. I sometimes put a napkin or something there if I know I will type for a long time. It can get really hot on your lap and will make your legs sweat, but I mostly use it on a table so no problem. Originally I thought I couldn't game on this, but for older games it is a dream actually, I even plug it in to my TV via HDMI and play with a steam controller or 360 controller. Games that have worked really well on it: AC4 Black Flag, ME3 (lower settings), Team Fortress 2, Skyrim Special Edition, Amalur .

Hi Ravi, Thanks for this detailed and honest review! I am considering buying this laptop but I want an anti-glare matte screen with a non reflective surface. Is this completely glossy and reflective? Can an anti-glare/matte screen guard/cover be added to it? Also, I want it for 8hrs/day office use which will usually involve writing on MS word and internet browsing with multiple tabs and occasional photo editing. Will this be the right choice or will it heat up? Thanks so much!

This isn't a right choice if you want 5hrs or more per day. The battery dies after 4hrs of usage; max. Go for a macbook if you want power for full day. Screen is neither glossy nor matte. It's crisp but you xan look at it's newer update Dell 7570. However, 7570 has a glossy screen. My recommendation based on your requirement: Go for macbook

No that doesn't heat up as long as you perform basic tasks even with charger connected. Heats up when you use resource intensive tasks or programs like gaming or video editing. Dell has an inbuild-preinstalled PowerLite software that helps keep your battery healthy even when you keep charger connected for whole day. Hope this helps! Look at new Yoga and ideapad from lenovo just released in India.

Macbooks have fallen off massively. They used to be great for creative students and users on art programs, but now PC software has more than caught up. Mac's are now just overpriced in terms of tech and software. Some do still think they look better though, so that's fair if that's what you want. You're going to get A LOT more for your money by avoiding MacBooks.

Only thing I'm confused about it is, the Dell inspiron 5577 and Dell inspiron 7567 has Nvidia GTX 1050 and GTX 1050Ti respectivley and the price difference is just 5-10 k. So , should I just stick to Inspiron 7560 for its thin bezel display and how sleek it looks OR should I forget about the looks and get Dell inspiron 5577 or 7567 ?! Usage wise I dont play many games , I just play Fifa a lot and watch videos and browse. Your suggestion please ?

I have the Dell 7460, same specs with the laptop on this video. You should buy this IF you plan to use it and bring it all the time. Also, FIFA plays well per my research on 940MX video card. If do not intend to bring the laptop with you always, purchase the inspiron with 1050TI.

ok sir just one last thing.When i bought laptop i got a problem of 100% disk usage..I have now fixed it by disabling many windows 10 process running in background. Did you face the similar problem too? Also u said FHD u mean 1080p ryt?Since mine dont have ssd like yours will it make a difference for me.Should i buy an ssd? If yes which will u recommend?Also should i upgrade ram too for these softwares if yes then plz also suggest ram too.

+Vivek Sharma Yes, SSD do make a big difference when you work on apps like these. Samsung Evo series is good. Otherwise look at WD or Kingston. Yes, FHD means 1080p. 8 RAM is enough but you can upgrade when you get low memory warnings. Untill the you are good to go. If required ypu can buy Crucial RAM.

Buy a laptop with Quad core processor, it's a dual core. But for that, if you are under budget, you will have to compromise with some hardware like Display and body. And there are few options only under 1L. This laptop is also good. Keep your PC clean, use tools like CCleaner. If you want good performance, add SSD. I have tried this and it boosted the performance of a 4th Gen Pentium powered Dual Core laptop significantly. SSD really boosts system performance! Also, check RAM status. Your system might be going low on memory if so, add more RAM. Also, do a system startup clean, and turn off unwanted programs to run at System Startup using CCleaner or using inbuilt Task Manager. Good Luck!

Dell 7560 i5 is a good choice. You can also look at similar laptops like Asus R558UQ, HP Pavilion 15-AU118TX. If you want more portability and long battery backup, have a look at MacBook or Zenbooks from Asus.

The diffrence between the two is build quality, And Weight. It's more than 700 Gms more than 7460. But still a very good deal at this price.

+Prashant Mhatre It offers great sound with Wave Maxx Audio. Speakers are loud enough and clear. Display again is one of the best. It's a IPS panel. or just wait for 7570 which will be lau ched in India Soon. Most probably in December with 8th Gen Coffee lake CPU.

Yes . Buy a M.2 SSD (max 500GB is supported). I have bought Samsung 860EVO. Basic operation is faster. But not worth an upgrade.

Vinay Vandale Dell has set the GPU throttling threshold much lower than the default from NVIDIA. So, the GPU throttling occurs in this laptop often. You cannot prevent that from happening unless you use ice to cool it!

You can't do much. That's the max FPS you can get from 940MX. I have used Laptop coolibg pad but that doesn't help. But keeps the ambient temp. under control.

You can disable Intel Speedstep. The processor will not turbo boost but GPU will not be temperature bounded anymore. Use good cooling system. Not safe as such.

+Aniket Gupta Look at Asus ROG series and HP's OMEN laptops. Pretty good laptops with powerful specs and under your budget. They have an IPS display which is good for both video editing and gaming. You can also look at Dell 7567, a powerful beast but comes with a poor TN Display. Dell is soon going to launch a newer 7567 model with IPS Display. Only if you can wait for a month. Lenovo is also going to launch a new series soon with high end specs and i think it worth to wait. Good Luck.
