If you got the 16GB it should be fine for a while, but if you still want to replace it get 3200mhz SODIMM ram. A kit with 2 or buying 2 of the same kind will give you better performance. Also lower latency Ram will better but can cost quite a bit more. For the SSD it’s the same as desktop ones, but try to get the PCIE gen 3 ones to top out the speed. They don’t cost much more than the slower ones in this case. In any case it works good right out of the box, but use the Dell Update app to make sure you have the latest Dell approved drivers, bios, and software.

If you're the type to buy this laptop to actually play games on it and you can stop watching other laptop reviews then I can say you'll be very happy with it. @@Loaded0 the reason I ask is because I have the same laptop but it doesn’t seem like variable refresh rate is actually working when playing games
@Loaded02 жыл бұрын
If you have hybrid graphics on you get the benefit of freesync. While the Nvidia gpu is processing the graphics the integrated gpu is still displaying it. That’s why with hybrid graphics there’s slightly less performance. If you have hybrid graphics off you won’t get the benefit of freesync since the Nvidia gpu is directly displaying the frames onto the screen. Like you mentioned we would need gsync but it’s not available as far as I can tell on this screen. Some of the Legion laptops support both for this reason.

It sounded like coil whine. I’m thinking it was the CPU or GPU starting to draw in much more wattage quickly as it only happened when going from idle into a game. I have noticed after using today that at lower fan speeds there’s a light clicking noise coming from the bottom vent when I hold it close to my ear. I’m going to have to investigate that.
