After using the Dell G5 se (4600h + 144hz display), I am very satisfyed with it. The trackpad is very good afeter using it a bit, leaving it time to adjust. The screen is awesome thoughas you said has a fair amount of backlight bleed, mine is on the bottom corners. Overall, very nice machine! Haha. Just to be clear, it was a PR company who handles it, but yeah they seem to prioritize larger written media. I still get companies reaching out to me now that ignored me just months ago, honestly I don't really care as long as I can get the products to review, a lot easier when I can borrow them instead of buying them like I had to do with these G5s.

you’ve earned a subscriber and here’s why: you’re honest about the laptop. it’s very good, i upgraded from an overpriced and underperforming laptop. i bought both for similar money. yeah it gets hot, but if you already have it, a good idea is to use ryzen controller, and set max temp and TDP (note: you’re gonna have to redo it every time you restart the computer). other than that, i love it and the old gray look kinda brings a sleeper vibe which i could feel comfortable using in meetings and class. Nice review, keep up the good work mate, as you guys in Australia say ;)
@shuflie4 жыл бұрын
For ryzen controller set up a task (control panel>administrative tools>task scheduler) to auto start it on login and run with the highest privileges. Then you can set the options in ryzen controller to open minimised to tray and apply a saved profile. EDIT:I should point out that the autostart option in ryzen controller does work, but the automatic elevated privileges trick it tries to use didn't work for me and I always had to allow it to run on startup. Using a task does the same thing but, as it is a windows function, the elevated privileges option gets around the interruption.

Hey Jarrod, I was just wondering what AA setting you use on your Tomb Raider bench, I have the top spec version G5 and scored 75 FPS vs your 68 with default AA setting on the highest preset. Also disabling the 4800H boosting brings temps down so much with almost no performance loss, defiantly something worth looking at for all your future Ryzen 4000 series reviews.
@RickymaRI874 жыл бұрын
This is why I feel AMD is not serious. They are not pushing for OEM partnership and creating a standard for their products. When Intel launched the I series, they created the ultrabooks. They basically said to OEM'S the battery has to be... the screen has to be... the build has to be... it was just down to manufacturers to decide on their designs. Out of that came xps, envy, zenbook, matebook etc. Some of the best products money can buy.

I just got one of these with a Ryzen 9 4900 and 16 GB RAM for $1300. I figured it was a pretty good deal (I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to computers). Now I'm seeing many reviews blasting it (tho I have yet to see any reviews with a R9). I haven't yet started playing any recent demanding games on it, but I was hoping this thing would at least be able to run upcoming PS5-level games for another 4 - 5 years at least (at 1080p of course). My understanding now is that this laptop will be 'outdated' in in a year or two (if not completely outdated already) and I wasted $1300 on this when I should have gone with something else for the same price? Mind you, I'm only concerned with the performance here - I don't care how the laptop looks. And if my understanding is correct, the Ryzen 9 I have is supposed to be pretty high-end, right? But the RX 5600 GPU is apparently shit, right? Does this mean that I'm GPU bottlenecked? Should I have gone for something with a better GPU but a worse CPU like an R7/i7? Or could the Smart Shift technology potentially allow for the R9 to make up for the RX 5600?

I'm kind of disappointed by this purchase, the only game I wanted to play experienced massive lag. how did 5600 gets beaten by 1660ti?! is this a AMD driver unoptimization issue?

@@maxil6191 Post Scriptum, on some maps I'm getting insane lag spike sometimes dipping below 10 fps. Very disappointed with this laptop, I ended up returning it.

Hello, in my country they're offering a 120 Hz panel with the rx 5600M and 4800h & 4600h versions. Do you have any information regarding this panel?
