Any recommendations on how to get some of the screws out. The video makes it seem simple but some of these on my laptop are extremely tight and end up stripping the screw.
@ozianin73894 жыл бұрын
Did you sort it out somehow?
@ThZuao3 жыл бұрын
General tip to get off screws that are too tight is to put some penetrating lubricant on them. WD-40 works. Just clean up afterwards with isopropyl alcohol as the oil will collect dust. There's also another kind of oil that creates a little parafinic layer over the screws so they can come off even if the screw is badly rusted. Don't know what they're called in english. They also have penetrating abilities to get screws off but they really shine when you apply a little on a screw you know you'll have to take off again in the future. WD-40 works for that purpose too. So my recommendation is that you apply some oil to take the screws out, clean up afterwards, do wathever you need to do and when it's time to reassemble the thing, get new screws, apply a little oil on the screw thread before putting them back in and make sure you're using the correct sized screwdriver. More often than not, it's the wrong screwdriver stripping the head rather than the screw being too tight. A perfect fit screwdriver makes even actually too tight screws easy to take out but also easy to tight too much.

After doing this, my graphics card is not working. Any suggestions on what would have gone wrong, and how to fix it?
@gametimeoficial2 жыл бұрын
Look for the LED blinking and its pattern. Probably you will see a pattern 2,4 indicating memory ram failure or 3,1 indicatig CMOS battery failure as mine did. www.dell.com/community/Inspiron/7559-blinking-pattern/td-p/6007795 Solution: disassembly everything until you get to step 5:10 on this video. You should replace this battery or, as I did, just clean the connector and the battery, tighten if possible. After that, assembly everything, disconnect memory ram and connect again just in case. Try power on to see if it works.

It's a bit of precaution that is worth a ton of cure. ESD is a real thing and tech companies invest a lot in reducing losses. I've lost a gpu that also took with it an mb to ESD... But grounding is sufficiently achieved by touching a bare metal part every 5 or so minutes. or even better, a part with an actual route to ground. Many professional pc builders swear by the wrist thing, many swear that you don't actually need it. Linus actually tested it, in a very non scientific way, and you need a LOT of charge to actually kill something. My prefered method, since no one builds a house with grounding in brazil, is to be barefoot on a ground level tile floor, with the pc atop a wooden bench.
