This is my work laptop and I’m now buying one myself as a personal laptop. Ive had the same work laptop for three years. My job assigned it to me. I’ve literally dropped it, pushed it off my bed by mistake, spilled juice on it (nephew), had it stepped on (was working on the floor on holiday and my grandma didn’t see it). THIS THING REFUSES TO GIVE IN! Even the charger is still going. Keep in mind this is for work so daily use running multiple programs, VPN, etc for at least 4-5x a week. And I leave it on majority of the time. Meanwhile my current MacBook Air broke after only a few emails. Never going that route again, this laptop has made me a Dell person for life computer wise

Thanks for the very nice review. Concerning the display, it's not a real matt display but rather one with a non-glare coating as indicated by Dell. So it seems to be a good compromise by your review!

For linux there is no scaling issue on QHD? So you advice QHD for better text comfort? The 7480 seems to have 270 nits max brightness so I guess if it's enough.

Thank you for the great review, at home I use the E7450 and at work I use E7470. Also I use dell E port docks so it makes everything so easy to connect and this new model does not have these. Honestly I dont see a point of buying the E7480 at all but really great review.

Love your Latitude reviews. One thing is I hope you can make a note to test the webcam. This is one component that manufacturers always skimp on, even in their highest end models.

I bought the E5450 and then the E7470 based on your recommendations, I was super happy with each computer. The E7480 though doesn't look like enough of a step up, I'll stick with the E7470.

Hi your videos are really good and reviews have been unbiased and perfect. we have recently purchased Latitude 7480 for our organisation, but i am really not happy with Keyboard and touchpad this time, i think previous generations 7450 or 7470 had better build quality as compared to 7480. Keyboard on 7480 times feels very clumsy and few keys like right arrow key, delete key esc key do not give good feedback and feels not aligned perfectly. Moreover touchpad gets stuck and websites or any screen starts zooming in.out it acts really weirdly. This laptop has come pre installed with Win 10 PRO and few of shortcut keys have there own brain i feel win + a and win + c shortcuts tend to activate automatically. Do you also have similar experience as i have already got my keyboard replaced by Dell after 10 days of purchasing this laptop. what are your thoughts on this and what can be done for this.

I guess certain features vary by region. My 7480 with same specs (7300U/8GB/256GB) has Thunderbolt on the usb-C port and NFC reader. Mine cost EUR1400/GBP1175/USD1500

Thanks for the stellar review. Few questions re: noise At idle my system is 33dB. With the fan the sound is: 38 low 44 medium 49 high I've tried to position my mic just like yours, so there may be some human error in these measurements, but it seems like my machine is much louder than yours! Have you heard this third fan speed? This one might be going back to Dell. Frusterating, since I got this as a replacement for a 7270 that had some insane coil whine (but dead near silent even under severe load).

Thanks nice review. Me and my Daughter uses the E7450 and E7470. Also we use dell E port docking and it makes everything so easy to connect, it turn instant Desktop for heavy long work load and while charge also. this new model does not have these option, Very disappointed DELL from your upgrade or say downgrade hardware. I don't understand why dell made without E-port.

I use this machine right in 2019 June, after watching your video, overall, it's a superb machine. Except the speaker is a little weak, and unfortunately, there are no 1080p screen resolutions, everything is good. I think those flaws will hold me from playing online games. Your review is pretty much accurate because the battery life is really super long which lasts for almost 8-9 hours even I keep listening to the KZbin music non-stop at a large volume. Danke German

It's not a Kensington lock. Dell uses Noble Wedge lock slot which is not compatible with Kensington.

Battery life is no where even near to what you mentioned it will be a dream to have 14 hours battery .it is always only 2 hours or less for me for a brand new latitude 7480 from my workplace

Are you kidding me? The Dell 'precision' trackpad on the XPS sucks. It's not precise at all. Also, you don't mention what kind of trackpad it the Latitude does have. And why should you be able to open a laptop with one hand? Are you an amputee? And this is a business laptop. If you want to test the speaker so badly, then you should test it for audio conversations, not music. Shitty review.
