It is good to open and clean the vent also or if it too dirty, very old or noisy is better to be replaced.

I have this laptop, It was running hot all the time, no matter what you do. The main problem is that there isnt fan control option in the Bios menu, so I desided to modefye the laptop. I connected my fan directly to the USB port and put small resistor to reduse fan spinning. Now my temperatute are around 40-45 C. I think this is success.

No, that is not the solution. You neeed to remove the dust and the old termal paste, and upgrade the BIOS. I did the same, all is fine. ;) And mine has a dedicated GPU, as well...

@@Theworthsearcher He did the right thing because there isn`t a fancontrol in the bios. These Dell series are running too hot.
