Dell monitor color flicker fix

I've had these monitors for years and this issue happens every time I unplug them or they lose power. Easy fix, takes less than a minute!

Great video! I just encountered this issue with one of Dells first ever 30 inch monitors which I’ve used since 2008. It’s served me really well. The trouble I have is there is no OS MENU when I’m trying to bring it up! So I guess this is the end for my monitor

perfect tutorial and works but i have an issue when enabling the overclock on the monitor and when you are prompted to reboot and initiate a reboot everything is reset and the burn in mode is activated and the overclock is not set as it is reset to factory settings with burn in mode enabled

I have experienced what you talked about with the setting not saving when I changed it with my pc on, and I think it has something to do with the computer being on when you change the setting. I turned off power saving on the monitor and put my computer to sleep, then I accessed the menu while the pattern was still flashing. I then went ahead and changed the burn pattern setting while it was flashing, and the instant I changed it, it stopped flashing and saved when I exited the menu. When I woke up my pc, monitor worked as intended and I was able to turn power saving back on with everything back to normal.

It's a pain in the ass whenever i doze off near the monitor it goes into power saving and the flickering starts only for me to wake up and see those colors it just triggers me. Thanks for the fix. Though I wish it could save these settings, so annoying to input everytime. Should have sticked with my 60hz asus, it worked flawlessly but I wantez 144hz 2k, oh well.

I have the same monitor and had issues where I saved the settings and the burn in pattern would instantly come back when I powered it off/on. I fixed it by replacing the main board with one from eBay.

Hi Eric, while you found a fix for the issue, would the issue still be considered a monitor defect? I just got a new monitor and it's doing this, while you solution helped, in my mind the monitor is still defective because it shouldn't even do this to begin with. I have another monitor just like the one I bought now and it doesn't have this issue.

I have an Msi g24c and it’s stick which I’m assuming burn in mode as well but there is only two buttons on it and the osd menu doesn’t pop up so I’m so confused on how to get it out of burn in mode

I do have the same issue and I had already tried your solution, but for me it didn't work, flickering keeps going on. But what seems to have soled it right now is to perform a factory reset.

My monitor is an MSI OPTIX MAG24C and it does this but i don’t have any extra buttons anywhere, only one power button. this is a new pc and monitor and i just hooked everything up, spent roughly 1,400 dollars on the pc and monitor, any help is greatly appreciated.

For the second step. I dont have power saving I have something called deep monitor sleep enable or disable. I will assume thats the power saving mode so i have that on disable. Would that be the correct option?

So I haven't had this problem, but earlier when I turned on my computer and was about to sign in, the background don't show up and it was just a red screen. I was able to sign in but there was no picture. I'm assuming that's just a glitch. I also am having a problem while in game where the bottom of the screen would flash red every now and then. Not super often, but just randomly it would appear at the very bottom of the screen. Not sure if it's my computer getting to hot or something. Maybe it's the HDMI signal, idk. It doesn't cause any problems, It just kinda appears there at random moments.

You need to check your nvidia settings in the desktop. Your monitor might be set higher than your PC is putting out. For example, I have three monitors, all identical, but I run one on 144Hz and the other two on 60. I moved recently and had to set my stuff up. For whatever reason, my games were only running 60fps on my 144hz monitor. Turns out I had the wrong monitor in place and all I did was use nvidia settings to change the resolution to match the fps to Hz of that monitor. Make sense?

I've had these monitors for years and it doesn't bother me. It's such a quick and easy fix, that I don't mind it. It literally takes seconds and it doesn't harm the monitors.

@@mariomarji3916 I just contacted Dell support. If you have the service tag on the back of the monitor and give it to them, they will grant you a new monitor if it's still in the guarantee period. You also need the original box.
