I am trying to learn to cut down the length of time on the videos as they are getting longer as I am doing more tests on them, trying to work out which are useful and which not so important and feedback like yours provides me direction on should I keep that section or not. Thanks for the sub, hopefully I won't disappoint and I able to provide nice information on our journey together.

Excellent video that covers just about everything! I love the Dell Precision Mobile Workstations and this thing is a beast as far as specs go. However, I'm not a fan of the modern form factor and for me the peak of this product line is the M6800 that has the perfect combination of old meets new, with a fantastic selection of legacy and modern connectivity, ports, and other options. Some things that the M6800 does better than the 7750 include (in my opinion)... more ports, only two screws to get inside it, no screws holding the battery in place, SIM Card can be inserted or removed without taking the casing off, dedicated docking connector, touchscreen display option, hot-swappable hard drive caddy, hot-swappable optical disc drive, RAID configurable storage, traditional keyboard (not chiclet), full-sized arrow keys, trackpoint with dedicated buttons as well as trackpad, dedicated volume buttons, two sets of activity indicator lights, backlit keyboard option, latch to keep lid closed during transport. Oh, and it fully, natively, supported Windows 7 that was an operating system option from the factory. Those are the things that I can think of off the top of my head.
@MajinGohanSSJ2
@MajinGohanSSJ2 3 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with you. There was even more good things about 6700&6800 series like ability to use docking stations without any "penalties", also you could upgrade/replace VGA if you need and many more good stuff. Back then those machines looked more premium-class compared to this one today, imo.
@FlyboyHelosim
@FlyboyHelosim 3 жыл бұрын
@@MajinGohanSSJ2 Yeah with the docking station the M6800, etc. feels like a true desktop replacement and almost becomes part of the machine itself, rather than being plugged in as a mere accessory with flimsy USB-C connectors that apparently can be yanked out pretty easily. Yes literally every component of the older models are fully replaceable. And I agree, they really do look and feel premium and offered much more value for money due to them being laced with many more features and functions. Companies just seem to go for raw power these days without the accessibility but even the most powerful computer in the world is reduced to being a glorified paperweight if you can't plug anything in to it or service it.
@MajinGohanSSJ2

@@FlyboyHelosim The market seems to be dictating the rules today. All computers strive to be like "Apple". Minimalist design, minimal ports and integrated components. What else do you need for benchmark-oriented customers? :) People like me and maybe you (engineers, etc.) need a lot of ports (I simultaneously use 7 USB ports and sometimes even the old COM port to connect to old-style equipment). I have used this series of PCs for many years, my 6700 has been heavily upgraded 2 times (the best i7qm (gen3) processor, 8GB nvidia 980m, etc.), but today a newer system is required and I already have to look at other manufacturers. Just thinking out loud ..

I was wondering what you think of the Lenovo ThinkPad P17 as an alternative to the Dell Precision 7750 as I am debating which laptop to purchase. I understand the Nvidia RTX 4000 and 5000 Max-Q video cards may have a lower wattage than Dell's RTX equivalents which I am given to understand have no such limitations. Thank you.
@BsianTech
@BsianTech 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ravi, I haven't touch the new ThinkPad P17 Gen 1 yet, I currently have the P15 gen 1 in my hands and about to release the review for it. From opening up the P15 and Precision 7550 I notice a few things that Dell has added in their case and backcover to assist with heat transfers plus trying to reflect heat where you won't want to. My thoughts it be the same for the 7750 and the P17 so overall I could see that the Dell has better thermal solution which means it can put in the more higher wattage graphics chip.

@@BsianTech I was trying to figure out how they allowed me to option an i9 10900K on it when it came to cooling, and when I reached out to the techs, they were unable to explain how it cools that processor nor could they show me pictures of the cooler
@BsianTech
@BsianTech 4 жыл бұрын
Interesting now you got me looking into it as well, because we know how hot the i9 K is. Have a look at the service manual for the cooler: topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/xps-8940-desktop_Service-Manual_en-us.pdf . Look at page 11 and 43 gives idea of the cooler. I don't see any extra housing to create a wind tunnel for the processor cooler interesting enough.

Hi, I hope all is well. I’m not a gamer, and I plan to use the Precision 7750 for live-streaming my art. It will be configured with the Quadro RTX 5000 GPU. I want the GPU to focus on the live-streaming. CPU should concentrate on other things. Regarding the CPU, I will go with the Xeon 108855M CPU. Do you have a video testing that combination or any thoughts? Can the laptop handle the above tasks? Thank you, Vye
@BsianTech
@BsianTech 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Vyacheslav Kantor, I am not sure what type of livestreaming software you use and style but personally I think you will find that the configuration though nice to see it very nicely speced it might be an overkill for your typical livestreaming. I'm also not sure of the amount of overlays or graphics effects you intend to run but personally I think even a i7 and the Quadro T1000 can handle it very nicely but if you want more speed for the graphics then move up to the RTX 3000. I might be wrong on the livestreaming software and effects your might be running but just thinking to try save you money.

I'd love to get your thoughts on the 7740 vs a 7750? Dell has a great deal on the 7740.
@BsianTech
@BsianTech 4 жыл бұрын
Will give you honest truth the main difference between 7740 vs 7750 is the processor difference 7740 (9th Gen Intel) and 7750 (10th Gen Intel). There is a performance difference but if you saving a few hundred for sure look at the 7740. An i9 in the 7740 will beat a i7 in the 7750 just to let you know.
@jayarmstrong
@jayarmstrong 4 жыл бұрын
Update: I was wrong! 7740 came in 4k, too. Also, the 7750 has the vapor chamber, which seems to improve thermals for CPU or GPU better than the shared heatpipes of the 7740. It's also lighter and can be charged via USB-C. Those are the important differences for me, anyway.

Re-looking at the benchmarks, in all honesty from the results scores barely anything between the 7750 and 7550 having extremely similar configurations. If you are really curious, send me an email to bsiandad@bsiandad.com and I can email you back the spreadsheet for the scores I collected between the two. The 7750 and 7550 I reviewed had Quadro T1000 in them, so my personal thoughts are once you get the RTX GPU they would run hotter and then we might start to see a little, little difference in performance wise, the 7750 should be better since it physically had larger space to house larger fans and also more surface area for heat to dissipate throughout the laptop.

The Precision 7750 and 7550 is way way better than the XPS in terms of throttling. I currently have both the XPS 13 9310 and XPS 15 9500 and can safely say if you want stability performance over time the 7 series is easily win but if you doing burst speed performance then the XPS 13 9310 will win for 16 seconds then it hands the baton down to 7 series.

Hi friend! Thanks for all your videos, they are great and above all very educational. I studied industrial engineering, and I have decided to specialize in design, and I am studying the whole subject of the 3D world, design, modeling, rendering, texturing, animation, rotoscopy, color correction and more, not to mention that in my free time I want to enter the world of music production and video game programming and development ... but within all that world, I have been advised to buy a Mac computer or a 16-inch MacBook pro, so as not to suffer with data processing and also graphics . But after watching your videos, I have become interested in the DELL PRECISION 7750, with the features: * Intel Xeon W-10885M (8 cores, 16MB cache, 2.40 GHz to 5.30 GHz, 45 W, vPro) * NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 w / 16GB GDDR6 * 32GB, 4x8GB, DDR4 2933MHz ECC Memory * M.2 512GB PCIe NVMe Class 40 Solid State Drive * 17.3 "UHD HDR400, 3840x2160, 60Hz, Anti-Glare, No-Touch, 100% Adobe, 500 Nits, WVA, CamMic / WWAN Well, the quote on the DELL page is $ 3950, and thank God, we are in the conditions to acquire it. But after doing some more research, I could see how much like the CPU and GPU cannot be upgraded because they are soldered to the base square. And now, they offer me in the city that I live, a DELL ALIENWARE 51M R2 with the following: * i9 10750H 2.6GH * RTX 2070 8GB (super) * 32 Ram DDR4 * 512Gb SSD 2Tb HDD * 17.3 IPS 300 HZ In the latter case, as I have been able to find out about this ALIENWARE 51M R2 model, there is the possibility of changing both the CPU and the GPU. Please allow me to consult you: Based on all your experience and according to the work traffic I need to do: Do you recommend a DELL PRECISION 7750, or an ALIENWARE 51M R2, or some other equipment that is better, or in the last case, do you recommend waiting for the presentation of the new 16-inch MacBook Pro with its new M1X processor? I really appreciate the service you provide to thousands of people around the world, with education and digital information, and excuse so much letter, but it is a strong investment, and I want to do it in a good team that can perform well, above all , because one of my projects is the production of video games and animated films in 2D and 3D for children with family principles and values. A hug from a distance! Atte. Alex La Paz, Bolivia.

Hi Alex, thanks for the nice feedback. I have actually played with both computers you mention, I'm actually testing the Alienware 51 R2 right now. since you are studying I think you are better to go with the Alienware as it should be cheaper than the precision. If you are paid to do projects already I would then look to the Precision 7750. The reason I would say this is purely the cost and as a student, the error correction and stability factor isn't as high compare to the price factor. If you are a working professional then stability and error correction is very important compare to speed. The Alienware will be faster and again this is due to the whole Quadro vs Geforce. One thing I not liking about the Alienware 51 R2 is the need for TWO large power adapters to make it work, they are heavy and large! As for the specs on both computers you provided are great and ideal for the applications you intend to use, well done on the good research =).
