What’s your review for Lenovo p1 Gen 2 about stability in performance?
@BsianTech4 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much for the great feedback Adarsh K Tiwari, truth I yet to get my hand's on one to have a play with the Lenovo P1 Gen 2, generally in the past I have found Lenovos pretty stable in the thinkpad series but having getting my hands on experience I couldn't tell you sorry. I am hoping Lenovo will allow me to review a P1 gen 3 in the future when it is release.

Thank you very much for the insights, it really helped me make my decision between the 2 choices. I've decided to go with 5550 since I will have a desktop to rely on when truly needed. Convinced after watching your video :)

Thanks for the commend and I'm so glad I was able to assist with making a good educated choice on which of these two great mobile workstations. You are right if you have a desktop computer than the Precision 5550 is fantastic compliment laptop to travel around with.

Thank you for this video. My laptop refresh is due and I can choose between these two models. Both will have 32Gb memory with I7 processor. I'm a software developer and run many containers, etc on my laptop during the day, so sounds like the 7550 is the choice for me.

I agree with your comments on keyboard layouts, It's very important factor when buying a laptop for me, I bought a XPS 15 replace my Latitude few years ago without thinking of this and in the end I was never able to get on with that computer due to keyboard layout. My palm kept hitting the touchpad and keys were too wide on XPS and it made me having to keep look down on keyboard while typing, slow typing speeds and lot more mistakes. that killed the whole experience and in the end I ended up sticking with my Latitude.

After watching your different reviews on 5550/7550, I have ordered the 5750 over the 7750 model. I am assuming the only difference between 15" and 17" machines is the screen size and everything else is like you described. Thank you BsianDad for your videos to help my buying decision. I will look out for your affiliate links in the near future to purchase additional accessories I may need.

URGENT! Sir, Precision 5750 also comes with RTX 3000 like Precision 7550. Which one shall I go for? Precision 5750 with RTX 3000 or Precision 7550 with RTX 3000? I would be running software like Revit, 3ds Max, SketchUp, Lumion, etc. Kindly advice. I want good performance, but also a smaller form factor if possible. Performance is my priority, though. Thanks.

Ah just saw your comment here after answering you on my IG, and for others to read, 7550 easily for performance even over the 5750.

Hey @BsianDad! Thanks for all your hard work, I really appreciate it. What does your username mean?? Is it just short for "Be(ing) an Asian Dad"?
@BsianTech4 жыл бұрын
Cheers Matthew Levan, my channel name is just something I combine of my name and play of old tech (pretty nerdy actually). My name is Brian, back in the days when texting without on-screen keyboard, you had to convert numbers on keypad to letters (pre-smart phone days) if you try type my name it would have been, 27426, is what you press on the keypad but when you do that the first word that mobile phone recongized in that number combination is "Asian" and so the friends who text me slowly stop autocorrecting the text and just left it like that and I was known as "Asian" to a number of my friends lol. So when I decided to create this channel I just wanted to carry that fun play over, the Dad part was because I was just doing anything on my youtube channel at the start without any direction, and it was only slowly time it turn into more of a tech channel nowdays.

The RTX is Max-Q on the 7550, not full RTX.
@ovDarkness4 жыл бұрын
It's not max-q but it's power limited to 80W. In 7750 it's 110W. That's why I've gone for RTX4000 instead of RTX5000 in mine.

7550 looks so last era though. The obnoxious branding just sits there to eat up potential screen real estate.
@autonomy_4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the design was refreshed somewhat, but still isn’t as modern as it could be. I still chose the 7550 over the 5*** series due to graphics, thermals, and ports. The quoted price for my company was also way cheaper for top shelf specs. I regularly connect to static IP local networks and present on HDMI, dongle life and performance hits aren’t worth the sleek design for a work machine IMHO.
@BsianTech4 жыл бұрын
I would have to agree with you @Nguyen Hoang Anh in regards to the display. It could have been upgraded like the 5550, no need for the large bezel at the bottom these days.
@BsianTech4 жыл бұрын
Alan G, I think Dell could have done a little bit more in terms of the top lid. I do see some small cosmetic changes but not even worth mentioning. The people who by the 7 series value the performance being high on their list. Just like yourself I value having the HDMI and ethernet built-in a laptop.
@aaaaanh4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for replying. Yes, I do agree the thermal performance and ports are in a higher priority than sleek design as Alan said. But I'm mostly saddened by the screen and the lid than anything, given the price tag Dell charges. And the material makes it look a bit bulky but I haven't got the chance to physically try it out but visually, that's my take. xd
@BsianTech4 жыл бұрын
I understand your thoughts on the screen and lid, I do my best to try help to give an idea what the laptop might feel and look as a lot of these workstations class aren't available at your typical computer or electronic stores so you can touch and play and mostly have to purchase them online.
