DELL Precision T5500 Review | My Old Gaming PC in 2021!

i got my t5500 in 2015 for $80 . i got rid of all the plastic stuff and the hard drive holder . mine had the 2nd cpu so i got a pair of zeon 5680s $80, evga clc 120mm $30 , k2200 gpu $60 , tesla k80 24gig add on gpu $100 , 50mm cpu water block $17, 3 40mm gpu water blocks (k80 has 2 gpus ) $22 each , 2 32inch stainless braided sink hoses , 3/8 fuel pressure hose clamps 10 for $8 , 500gig ssd (master) $120 , 4, 1 tera hard drives ran in raid $200 , edup PCIe WiFi 6E Card AX210 $36 . i ran it for an hour and shut it down ordered the water cooling stuff . took a second to figure the cooling line but it was worth it, runs at 80 degrees on 120mm rad using the stock 4k fan . this has been a rocket from jump till yesterday the motherboard just died so now im at a loss replace the mother board $120 or buy a dell 7820 with 2 E5-2650 V3 cpus , 16GB ddr4 ram , 1TB hard drive for $500 and put all my stuff in it

I got two T5500 with me, one of them is acting up recently. I am suspecting the motherboard is dying too. Looking for replacement of T5500, where did you find T7820 at such a low price?

Hello there. I wanted to ask if you can buy a optional riser online on ebay for example as in a week i am picking up a t5500 for 45 bucks

Check ebay. Normally you can for less than $100, but it may not include the additional ram and CPU.

Yes, but make sure the cpu you intend to replace it with is the right socket type. Also i think this system only supports xeons.

Thanks a lot for this. Just that I'm a novice to all this, and I want to know what to upgrade to as a 3d animator. CPU clock is clock speed is 2.4 12 cores of course, Zotac GT730, 32gb ram, but still having serious lagging issues on my 3d software😮‍💨, what up grade do you suggest, I'm also a gamer, I'm trying not to do what will impact the system negatively. please I need help...

I would recommend a better GPU. The 730 is an old low end card, and that doesn't go well with 3d software. GPUs are expensive but a worthwhile upgrade

That is SUS. My old Precision has a shroud for the Cpu. I also played GTAV, Fortnite and other Epic and Steam games on it with a 750ti it was literally the "𝓕𝓲𝓷𝓮𝓼𝓽" even in 2021. I has 24gb+2gn shared Ecc mem with 1.5tb seagate sshd"s. This is good pc

Yeah, the shrouded cpu fan means it has a higher end cpu

i am not sure. You can go and try, but keep in mind that the memory needs to be ECC.

The motherboard doesnt have m.2 slot. The best you can get is a sata ssd.
