The hinges are designed to be really stiff so first and foremost, DON'T oil them. Use a pair of pliers and carefully turn the hinges to the position you need them in and you should be ok. After they are installed they will move fine with the leverage of the screen.

You would have to remove the power button and antennas and have them sitting off to the side. It won't look pretty, obviously, but it can be done.

Hi, Your videos are extremely helpful. However when I was about to replace my screen, the hinge on the right(where the Power button is situated) seems to have rotated which means I am not able to screw it onto the base. I tried to rotate the hinge back to position so that I can screw it to the base but it wouldn't turn. Can you please help?!!!

No, you would have to remove the wires from the base.

the back cover side trim broke do i have to replace the whole back cover

Yes, unfortunately that is part of the back cover.

I took my screen apart to replace the hinges on a dell 1558 now the back light is not working. Everything is connected. I can see the image on the screen if a flash a light on the screen and the display works when i toggle the display and connect a seperate monitor. Do i need to replace the lcd since the back light is no working?

Try reseating the LCD cable on the motherboard and the back of the LCD. If that doesn't fix the back light problem you will need to replace the entire screen.
