I found the VMware story interesting because most times I have performed revenue cut-off procedure, we assume the risk is that the client will overstate revenue in the audited period. But in this case VMware has understated revenue. I guess it shows you have to really understand the business model and what their current issues are each year.

Good one Amanda..I have a few questions if you may please enlighten upon.. 1) Which Auditing standard is to referred when carrying out Information Security Audits ? Do ISA applies or is it only Isaca standards which need to be referred.. 2) if a person who is CIA as well as CISA , can he refer to both of them (ISA and ISACA standards) 3) Are information security audits also being given equal importance from violations point of view, by the regulatory bodies such as SEC or else ?

Hey, I saw your creating flowchart video. It is an old video but. I got a task from a big 4 company after passing initial tests ( not in US ) to create a flowchart for audit. Can you check my answer if I put imgur link here to the problem and my solution? You don't need to review it perfectly just in general. I created such a thing for the first time, I am an engineering grad. I mean I got a rejection but couldn't be sure if it was because of the task solely or there may be another reason. Also I would like to learn the mistakes I did.

Hi Dr. Amanda, I have a final exam in one month. I opened the IAASB standards and got confused about the order in which I should be studying them. I watched your video on 'tips to learn the audit standards' and it helped me to understand the individual standards better, but I am still stuck on the order problem. Wait till they start digging into Chinese firms that have two sets of books, one for external audit and one for laundering. Way too common in China, I was a pwc auditor in Hong Kong and have seen way too many clients with these shady dual sets of books. Yet no one says anything cuz which partners would want to lose a portion of their audit fee?
