It sounds like you should file a complaint to Delta for the crew ordered to close your shade. You paid for your window seat, and there's no specific policy on any airlines about the open/close of the shades.

I've booked this flight for April 2024. While I'm not in Delta One, I really hope they switch this plane out. I know this isn't an international route, but for a 12 hour flight.

Great video! Also what does the 1 hour delay have todo with shortening the meal service to one tray? I would have found that quite odd and disappointing

In terms of hardware, United is much more generous with its Polaris business on 767 featuring 1-1-1 staggered product. 1-2-1 staggered on 767 may be alright for Asians, but shoulder room and footwell are quite restricted for larger built Americans.

I flew that configuration when the planes were used by CO. It was great!!!!

Well you did do a good fair review for Delta I’ll admit for you being a OneWorld CX dedicated flyer who’s been with CX business or first class thanks for a non cx non biased review for DL

Yeah. For all the people I know that continue to believe “Delta is the best!”, I see reviews like this and wonder. I have had extraordinary service on United, in- and out of- the Polaris cabin, and would choose Polaris any day over the old Delta One cabin shown here. It’s interesting- the idea of an airline “being the most profitable”- for shareholders I assume. With less than stellar onboard service, (And with all the employees forced to wear purple- Really? Sometimes I wonder) it’s worshipped as the best because it’s delta. Idk man… Idk lol. In all seriousness, I will concede that yes, of course, delta is a premium US airline, and yes, it’s Always a privilege to fly in the front cabin, and yes, I am glad they are profitable!- but I still wish you could have gotten some extra compensation for this particular flight, too. Great video. Continued Safe and happy travels to you.

Do the 30 year old United planes have the Polaris cabins as in in their dreamliners?
@djtexas499311 ай бұрын
@@TandasiTandasi well, no Dreamliner is 30 years old , so while I’d say yes all Dreamliners should have Polaris, it’s worth double checking on the seat map. They do have some old 777s that run domestic routes that don’t have Polaris, but most of the widebodies should.

They have already started upgrading the 767 300. The entire 767 400 fleet has been upgraded to the new D1 seats.

Well done, probably with the sound mix or is it my computer, but I like your points which are comprehensive and ordered. The cabin looks dreadful and I have never understood the blinds down on a daylight flight. It is very weird and oddly depressing as it takes away much of the joy of flying which you clear adore.

North America is such a large market, but American carriers are really not quite competitive in quality services when they are compared to other competitors

Nice video. Someday, I have aspirations of trying Delta One. Though, your video proved many things; Business class flights from USA to Hawaii/International are mediocre. That includes meal, service etc.. International business to USA is always better. The service and food is always better and always has better food. Disappointed to see the lack of privacy and small seat for a Delta one seat. Partition doors are becoming a standard in business class products.

Why you boarded with comfort passengers when you saw Delta One passengers could board first

Nice video, Ken. I was shocked to hear DL doesn’t have a lounge in Toronto for how many flights they have. Unfortunately, it looks like you got a subpar D1 service. I don’t understand why they couldn’t serve the meal in courses because of the delay given you still had 11 hours to work with on the flight. Sounds like a lazy crew. I would have been pretty disappointed to pay the premium for their D1 product and get a poorly maintained seat, outdated IFE, and lackluster service. Hope you enjoyed your time in Hawaii!

Nice review but disappointing product, as stated. 'Certainly doesn't attract me to DELTA if an alternative carrier is available.

I am shocked that Delta would market this as Delta One. The flight must have cost a fortune. The plane being 31 years old was unfortunate. Poor food, poor service, and being told to shut your blinds. American hospitality depends on how exactly when and where you grew up in the country. These mega airlines have difficulties ensuring that their flight attendants are consistent as well as ensuring food offerings are quality. After following numerous trip reporters, I am convinced that you can’t get great service flying domestically in the US.

I’m glad I saw this video because my wife and I are planning a big trip to Hawaii. From SLC we either have the choice of a Domestic first class product for cheaper or a nonstop route that has this specific “Delta One” product. This is a major joke and we’re definitely not going on this plane/route for $2000 a person round trip. I’d actually think about it if it was the Delta One product in the newer A330-900neo’s. It’s really a shame this is marketed as Delta One when it’s such garbage compared to what you see in their marketing material.
@silversurferhi Жыл бұрын
Delta mostly sends their oldest planes to Hawaii unfortunately. That's why if you happen to fly a 330, 350 or 339 it's a good day. Hope you didn't pay for D1. They cannot even bring back Mai Tais for Hawaii flights. Those are some of the cheapest drinks around. The umbrella maker must have went out of business following Covid.

What a dumpster fire delta one is by far the worst international first class, especially on the 767. I am constantly disappointed when I have to take it, I am flying Delta One to Hawaii from MSP this month, and I am dreading the beat-up 1990s chairs and entertainment with chipped paint and the filth from never really cleaning the suites. Do better delta; you charge enough for the delta one option to provide some value beyond just extra space.
@clausstimpfig3803 Жыл бұрын
great Delta is a run down carrier. NO INTERNATIONAL FIRST CLASS CABIN. NO NOTHING. Food looked disgusting
@robyoungquist5803 Жыл бұрын
I’d be VERY DISAPPOINTED,Ken, in this service. For the Cabin Crew to tell you that meal courses have to be served all on one tray because of the “delay” is complete *&$# given the fact flight time is 11 hours. To me the meals looked like nothing special or memorable. I think if I were routing myself JFK-HNL, I’d choose Hawaiian Airlines over Delta. IMHO, Delta is nothing special at all. 🫤

They are lazy and wanted to get back to their reading and chatting. Same thing with the lights out during the day. Having flown in the days when service was good, the laziness of the crews and mediocracy of the food shocks me. Especially considering the probable $4000+ price tag on this ticket.
