Hi Vincenzo! Thanks for showing us more about your DV O/S Original Vintage! A good orange ink that is pretty legible is Diamine's Pumpkin. When I got my DV Mid-Size a month or so ago, I was surprised by how substantial the little guy is! Has a little weight to it, but it is not heavy. Even with the Jowo steel nib, it writes quite well. It is also a girthy pen for its size. That was a revelation to me also. Have a great weekend!

Fantastic review of an iconic pen! Mine has the same nib as yours while the cap has a nib logo on the top of the cap. Delta is my favorite brand. I just added a Spaccanapoli in orange and black from Pen Boutique. Delta is wonderful because of Nino Marino.

Please enjoy the pen. I am sure you will. I have a number of Delta pens. They were known for their innovations in design and materials used. I think they were the first to make a pen with carbon fiber and titanium material. I think they had a competition with Visconti, bringing out many different designs. I think for Delta my grail pen would be the 39+1 model. Love the form and function. You have a great selection of pens that I would consider grail worthy, the Pelikan M1000 being one of them. Congratulations and enjoy writing with it.

I have several grail pen category pens but the DV is special for me, followed by the Visconti Homo sapiens.

Congrats! Is it about the same size as the majohn p139? I have fallen in love with the size and balance of the p139, so now on hunt for Hemingways & Dolce Vitas but wasn't sure if the oversize is the same as the p139

I used to own both the original oversized and the mini. I like big pens, but I found the front section of the Delta oversized to be uncomfortable. The Ranga Model 5 with a #8 nib nails it for oversized pen ergonomics. The Kanwrite Mammoth with a 14K #9 nib is pretty good too, as is the Magna Carta Mag 1000 (#10 nib).

Congrats on getting the original! I do believe that when you interviewed the owner of Delta he had suggested the “newer” version is identical in “every” way in terms of design and materials. Do you find that to be true?

I saw them at the factory and they are. But the big difference is the nib.

The Manon P1 39 is actually an imitation of a mob Hemingway and trust me it is far from the Delta Dolce Vita however I find that with that number eight size nib it is a excellent pen for the price

Lovely pen! Beautiful. Very nice. But I prefer vintage pens, where vintage is intended as vintage proper.
