Join me on a tour of Atlanta's Delta Flight Museum. It's a must visit flight museum for any avgeek travels. In this video, you'll see some of the highlights of Delta Air Lines' Flight Museum. We'll check out the:
Delta Flight Museum Boeing 747,
Delta Flight Museum 767,
Take a look at the Delta Flight Museum Simulator,
The Delta Flight Museum DC-3
The Delta Flight Museum Convair 880 prototype cockpit.
There are tons of exhibits including tons of airplane models.
This is one of the coolest commercial aviation flight museums I've visited. The highlight for me was probably getting to go inside the retired Delta Air Lines Boeing 747, but the "Spirit of Delta'" Boeing 767 was also very cool. What do you think the best part of the museum was? Leave a comment!

I flew on that plane to Amsterdam in Spring of 2015 and it was one of my favorite airplane rides (not just because I am an avgeek). My seat was 77K. Before we left the gate in Atlanta, I was taking a look at the cockpit and the captain invited me to sit in his seat and take pictures! It was my first and only ride (so far) on an active 747. In 2017, I got to visit the plane at the museum and I was able to return to my seat. It is absolutely my favorite part of the museum and I love looking at it every time I am flying in and out of ATL. Truly an awesome plane! Thanks Jeb for the memories!

Forgive me for correcting you guys but ... In April 1966, Pan Am ordered 25 747-100 aircraft for US$525 As launch customer, and because of its early involvement before placing a formal order, Pan Am was able to influence the design and development of the 747 to an extent unmatched by a single airline before or since.

I was there last summer! The museum was so cool! My favorite part was definetely the 747. You can’t pass up the Queen. I love planes but o has never been in one so it was quite the experience for me. Great video Jeb! Keep up the good work! Next, I think you should see the museum in Seattle with the original 747

I'm the son of one of the employees that purchased the Spirit of Delta. I remember attending the ribbon cutting ceremony with my mother. The 767 had a huge red bow tied around it and we all got the chance to walk through the plane. A few months after the event, each employee who donated to the initiative received a commemorative poster which included a picture of the plane at the ceremony and a 2" square clipping of the red bow. I was also fortunate to fly in seat 7A aboard a Delta 747 from Amsterdam to Atlanta a few years ago before they retired the fleet. Thanks for taking me on a trip down memory lane. The museum is on my must see list upon a future trip back to Atlanta.

What an awesome experience, and I love that these planes are still being used (although not in the sky) as museum exhibits instead of being left in a graveyard in the desert. I’d love to see the 747 but it’s a shame they never had DC-10s because I’d like to see a real (non-cargo) one of those too. Great video as always.

Great show. I enjoyed it very much. I’m also a great fan of Delta. When I was doing a lot of business travel in the ‘80’s and ‘90’s I did my best to fly them. This included flying into JFK (my least favorite US airport) from LAX as this was the only Delta non-stop into NYC at the time. The A-310 was the equipment used for the morning departure out of LAX. These planes came from Pan Am after their demise. One small item-I am pretty sure the fastest commercial airliner was the Convair 990. I am old enough that I remember watching my Father boarding one in LA many years ago. In any case, very informative. Thanks for the effort.

About 18 months ago I flew on DL from JFK to TPA. My seat mate was a TPA DL ticket agent who was on the 747 committee working on the museum display (it was not yet open). Employees had a lot of input and did a lot of work on the project. It's nice to see your tour of the museum and how the 747 display turned out. The lady also gave me a great recommendation for a "locals" Cuban restaurant in TPA, which I did visit and the meal was great. Enjoyed the video, I haven't had enough time in ATL lately to visit the museum.

Thx for the presentation Jeb. As a sidebar, American Airlines operates the C.R. Smith Museum in Texas. I scheduled a 4 hour layover at DFW so I could enjoy the museum. So glad I did. 👍🏻. Btw, being OLD, I remember flying the Delta 880 (along with the DC-8-61) between Chicago O’Hare and Florida many times over. When that thing screamed down the runway for takeoff, it felt like we were in a rocket!

I've seen it. Its a great museum if you have some spare time in Atlanta. Can easily occupy 2-3 hours or can be rushed through in an hour. The 747 experience is by far the best part. Make sure it is open on the day you plan to visit. Its a little difficult to get to I took a Uber/Lyft to it. However it is rather close to the airport if you want to leave for a few hours. It is defiantly one of the top attractions in Atlanta and is not just another flight museum. Its great because it take you through the rich history of Delta.
