Flying KLM B747-400 Combi with Horses!

I travelled on a KLM B747-400 Combi from Amsterdam to Mexico City with a behind the scenes tour inside the KLM B747. First, I visited the newly renovated KLM Crown Lounge. The 2nd floor is a paid restaurant and bar with open terrace and good plane views. The first floor has the usual free buffet, drinks, shower rooms and a nice bedroom. I recommend lounge users to go to 2nd floor for more space.
On the KLM B747-400 Combi flight, senior purser Eline gave me a behind the scenes tour on the many unique features inside the KLM B747; such as the long galley, the elevator inside the plane, the crew rest and the cargo deck behind the passenger compartment. To my surprise there were 10 horses travelling in the aft cabin, with their own horse groom, along with other cargo. This makes the B747 Combi a distinct aircraft, as it is able to carry such a mixed load of passenger and cargo at the same time on the main deck.
This video pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Boeing 747s first commercial flight, on 21st Jan 1970 with Pan Am from New York to London.

The amount of passion she has for her position the 747, and for KLM is so genuine, heart warming, and incredibly amazing to see. @@arsenioseslpodcast3143 Pretty much every major airline has crashed. I guess you won't fly anywhere. Many of them are not their fault. If you're talking about Tenerife, there were two 747's on a runway not meant for those big of planes, a bombing prevented them from their original destination, there was fog, and the accents could not understand each other. KLM has been recognized as a top-tier airline for ages. Crashes were common for every airline back in the 20th century.

KLM is a fine airline and I have much respect for them and the reason is as follows.....some years ago one of my employees who had cancer was returning home to Japan and had only weeks to live and was in a lot of pain and I informed KLM and they did everything to make him comfortable and upgraded him to business. I was so impressed that they showed compassion over profit and there would be very few other airlines who would make such a gesture in my opinion. Thank you again KLM !

I love horses. I used to work at a horse ranch taking care of them and I had a favorite horse named daisy. She is a blonde halflinger with a nice light blonde mane. She was so overweight they had to control her feeding. I used to give her peppermint treats. I would always spend my Sunday day offs with her all day and I would ride her bareback and no bridle. All I would do is tug on her mane in the direction I wanted to go and she always did so. It felt like I was in a movie. Very good horse. I miss her. Edit. I think I have a old picture of her somewhere on a old ipod touch or something. I'll try and find it and post a link later

One of my dutch teachers used to be a flight attendant for klm. One of het very first lessons about her history was so surreal. She flew at klm for about 20-30 years and she showed us all the aircraft she worked on. Shes a very sweat teacher and really cares about her students. Unlike other teachers who just care about grades. Een van mijn nederlands docenten was stewardess bij klm, haar eerste les was heel indrukwekkend, ze heeft 20-30 jaar gevlogen bij klm en ze liet elk vliegtuig zien waarop ze heeft gewerkt.
