Delta Goodrem - "Heavy" (REACTION)

Delta Goodrem is Australia’s Celine Dion. She is amazing and so underrated. She really needs to be heard and admired. Her personal story is one of strength, determination, and courage. She has overcome so much in her life. In her teen years, she fought a battle with cancer. Then more recently, she went in for surgery for her throat/tongue and it left her unable to speak and sing. She had to relearn how to talk and sing. Search KZbin for the Video where she talks about the song “Paralyzed.” You will learn what happened to her. Sadly when Delta had this surgery done, she was supposed to be finalizing a full headline tour of the states and a movie deal. It would have been Delta’s breakthrough to the states. She did however work on a film and album with her hero Olivia Newton John. Delta did perform at Olivia’s memorial celebration at Sydney. Delta is a force. She now owns her own recording label, Atled. I bet you will be seeing more of Delta. Check out her song featuring Gizzle, “Enough,” and my personal favorite, “Wings.” She just released a new single today called “Heart’s on the Run” and the single before that was “Back to Your Heart.”

from India here... been buying her albums since "Innocent Eyes". Honestly one of the best artists that came out in the early 2000s. It sucked to see her not being promoted well in US by her record company; not many didnt even know how good she was. her management couldnt even secure her a guest performance slot at American Idol show which was HUGE at that time... Her 2007 album "Delta" had such amazing songs like "Brave Face", "Possessionless", "God Laughs" etc and they chose to release "You Will Only Break My Heart" 😖😖

Wow just WOOOOOOOW... I havent heard this song before but WOOOOOOOW, not only is the song AMAZING but the lyrics and her performance of it... Yes it did. She gained a LOT of power throughout the years. Probably due to aging and her voice maturing. As people get older, their voices usually get deeper and thicker. Her resonance and projection are amazing these days.

She’s written a song for Celine before, on her Taking Chances album. There’s a clip of her coaching Celine on the melody in the studio. The song is called Surprise Surprise. I’m hearing a lot of Lara Fabian here too. Delta always seems like a middle ground between those two to me. She’s kind of the best of both-she’s got warmer and richer lows like Lara but then has clear and bright belts like Celine.
