@@blonde_birdav7685 they were just hiring but got 35,000 applications so removed the job posting. But they are now hiring for LOD (foreign language) FAs. Keep trying, as many have applied more than five times before they finally got hired 😊

It depends on the job you want. If you have visible tattoos, you probably won't get to become a flight attendant or gate agent. If you don't understand flight mechanics, you won't become flight maintenance. It's like any other job, you have to qualify for it. You have to look at the qualifications and see for yourself if you qualify for it or not. This is not as hard as some people make it out to be. If you want to be a flight attendant, you will be working holidays, you will be working weekends. You will start a day from extremely early in the morning to really late at night and do it for 3-4 days. If you want to work on the ramp, you will work in all climates from rain to snow to cold to hot. You have to ask yourself, do you want to see your significant other less then a typical 8 hour job. It falls on you, not the airline, whatever airline you choose to apply for.

@@jamesf791 the flight attendant job market is EXTREMELY competitive. Delta is probably the best US airline. 200,000+ people apply annually for only 1700 positions. You can do everything right and still not be offered an interview. A lot of it is based on luck, there’s a whole lot of requirements as well. They prefer people who are above a certain height, who can swim, who look a certain way, etc.

@@lexismith8206 to a point you are correct. Remember the first round of interviews is not done by the airline company, they have an outside contractor. You are right it's partially luck, but I don't buy that they have opening positions just to interview people. But some airlines you are correct a certain height, because you will have to close the upper bin. Yes you will need to know how to swim because you will need to do it in case of plane crashing into the water. Look? They mainly want a flight attendants to make sure their hair is not in the way. But it's extremely competitive, you are the ambassador of the airline. Flight attendants, not the pilots are the ones who make everyone feel comfortable and safe, though the pilots will always get the credit. It's a hard job as well, getting up at 4am and not going to bed until 10pm or later and doing this for possibly days at a time. Staying at a different city and not always able to enjoy what the city has to offer. I'm not saying one is better then any other, but each airline is looking for something, like every other job is looking for. What that is specifically, only that airline has the answers.

Delta is hiring in Chicago for the cargo position. Not ideal, but it's a step into the company. I know some who were just recently hired in Cargo and were able to transfer to different departments within a month.

I was wondering, I saw that Delta Airlines had a base at Paris Charles de Gaulle, does that mean that there are pilots and cabin crew who live there and fly from that airport, or just that Delta employs ground staff there?

Ummm...I have never seen a FA lift a passenger’s luggage into the overhead bin. Ever. I am appreciative when the FA notes I am Diamond Medallion but honestly the Delta cabIn crews I come in contact with treat everyone like a VIP. My only gripe? Quit serving the starter, salad and soup all at once on long-haul flights. Unless I order an express service ‘cause I just want to sleep, I want my soup hot and my salad chilled which means serving in separate courses.

Actually, Flight Attendants are told to ASSIST passengers in putting their luggage in the overhead bin, not doing it, as they cannot risk injuring themselves. Also, if you don’t want the salad and starter at the same time, just tell the Flight Attendant, and she will accommodate you.
