Nice job. I bought this kit about four months ago, but haven't started it yet. I have been waiting for the British weather to improve - it's hard to spray Revell acrylic paints well, unless the temperature and humidity are just right. I use Mr Muscle oven cleaner to strip metallic coated parts quickly, but the fumes are not agreeable at all! Thanks for the video, and please continue making more.

Hi I received the latest Revell Version of this great kit as a Christmas present from my wife who is fed up of seeing me build drab aircraft models. What a kit goes together perfect, purchased a new air compressor for my cheap Chinese air brushes used Vallejo new metal paints and metal primer I was in a different world of modelling. I would like to thank you for the mentioning of putting on the front grill/radiator on AFTER installing the two pipes in question, A lot easier. As regards the pedals no improvement , but no thick metallic parts to clean up. My build is coming along well with 5 coats of gloss on the black parts nearly mirror like . If my model turns out like yours I will be very pleased. Thanks for the tips its made my life a bit easier.

Hello Peter :) Gald to hear that my work helped you out. I do belive that Revells Ford model T is just a rebox version of ICM 😀. I'm certain that your model is gonna be just as good if not even better than mine 😉

Great build video! I am about to start the ICM 24002 kit which is the 1911 Model T Touring car. A lot of the parts are the same as your Roadster. My brass sprue has come NOT plated so I won't have your problems with the brass parts! I've watched your video 3 or 4 times now and it's going to be a big help in assembling my kit. Many thanks...

Thanks for a great video on this kit. I have just bought one and was looking for reviews. As for the brass plating, like chrome plating on kits it never looks that good and it looks like there is a mould line around the radiator. There is a product called true metal that comes in a tube. You put it on with a cloth and you can buff it back to a semi shine. I think it looks better than paint. On the actual Model T the pedals are on shafts that come out of the gearbox and the centre pedal is further back towards the driver than the other two. Its actually reverse gear.

Thank you for showing everyone how to build this model. One thing that would add some accuracy to the wheels would be to paint the felloe, the inner part of the rim, the same as the spokes. That would be very hard to do and have the metal part of the rim be a different color, black in this case. I would probably paint the entire wheel the body color.
@Mysmallhobby5 жыл бұрын
Hi, well you can try it and show me the resaults:) I would love to see it. The cool thing about cars is that, you can use your imagination on how you paint them :)
@rayrussell62582 жыл бұрын
If there is space, I would try using a piece of styrofoam or similar material as temporary backing for the pedals, press pedals into styrofoam to hold in place while gluing, then peal it away after glue sets.
@Mysmallhobby2 жыл бұрын
Yes now I would do the same now. But back then ... oh well :D

Very interesting kit, appears to be very good quality. I should try to find one of these. Brass parts is a signature of the cars of this era. I have to disagree with you about recommending they not do the plating on future releases, in favor of painting them. In your final photos I easily see the difference, and it isn't as authentic where paint was used. Perhaps the factory making the kit should improve the process somewhat, but please do keep the brass plating.
@Mysmallhobby2 жыл бұрын
Hello Ray. Thanks for your comment. It is true that the brass touch-ups wer different but it's mainly my fault because I was sloppy. If I had stripped down the brass plating and proceed to paint the parts wit brass paint and polish the parts, the outcome would be very different :)

Hi Tomo, Thank you for posting this instructional vid: very useful and informative - I particularly like the way you list the (minor) failings of the kit, so that manufacturers ICM will (hopefully) make the necessary amendments in future iterations of this model. Just one question, if I may: which type of air brush do you use?
@Mysmallhobby5 жыл бұрын
Hello :) Thank you for the comment. :) I use Harder and Steenbeck Evolution 2 in 1. Super airbrush easy to maintain and balanced. But not the cheapest. Link to video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZivnaN5q9OZrrc

Hey nice vid, but I have one question, Ive got a few ICM Ford models and none of them had brass parts, all plastic, is this like earlier versions or market specific versions? I`m really curious
@Mysmallhobby Жыл бұрын
Hello 😀 There are no Brass parts included in the kit as far as I know. Only plastic parts factory painted in gold. But you can strip down that factory finish and use your one paint.

I will say that people who like building alot can cost them some cheddar. If I am gonna put my heart n soul into a model,and trick it out with extreme detail I wanna put it in a display case. So....average car model cost $25. + $ 20.+ For a cheapy plastic display case and paint n glue. Plus bare metal foil,spark plug wires and rubber boots, braided lines ,photo etched goodies. Cha Ching Cha ching ! Military models are even more costly.
@Mysmallhobby5 жыл бұрын
Yes it's true. This hobby can get very expensive. But only if you let it. Shure you can buy all extra goodies for kits, but in the end it all depends how you will display the model. There is no sense adding a ton of detail to a cars engine for example, if you are not going to show it :) A case may make sense if you do not have a display cupboard. But if you just want to build and pait for fun then the base model is all you need :)
