Remember the good times with your grandad, those are the memories he'd want. Tell him you love him and grateful for all he did for you. Mine was like a father to me (my dad left before I was born). I'm glad I managed to before he passed.

Dan, I am so sorry for the loss of your grandparent. They leave holes in our lives when they are gone that time may soften the edges of but can never be filled. I am also sad. to hear about the loss of your Feline family members. No words can ever make these losses suck less. Your channel and content have had an impact. You helped me re-awaken my shoe care skills and values my departed da drilled into me in my youth. I resurrected his 1940s shoe valet, stocked it with Saphir products, and have found a lot of pleasure in properly caring for my footwear again. Going to treat myself to some higher-end oxfords this season and would love to send them to you for toe plates. Cheers and well done sir!

When you first showed the outsole I thought it was hideous and couldn't believe that color even existed, but once it was on and polished it looked amazing. The green and wood look of the leather worked together perfectly.

Hi Dan, I went to military school when I was 13. I'm 45 now. But when I was there some of us really went all into shining our shoes. I would do 1.5 to 2 hours per shoe, per week. I'd use water, a t-shirt, a lighter and cotton balls. Most of the magic would happen with the twisted up cotton balls. Each shoe would have a full mirror finish when I was done. We'd walk around campus very careful not to get any scuffs. But it was inevitable after a few days. Any light touch was a scuff. Anyhow, I just love watching your videos and always wonder what critique i'd imagine you'd give my 15 year old self when I was there shining away. Or maybe we could have a shine-off :) Keep them coming. You are one of a kind.

Condolences Dan to you and your family. I enjoy your videos immensely. I find them to be fun to watch and relaxing too. I’ve recently become a fan of Dainite soles. First saw them on your channel. I have a pair of custom Mexican made cowboy boots that I ordered with a “crepe” sole about 14 years ago. The sole became hard and slippery. I took them to my local cobbler (few and far between in North Dakota) and asked him if he’d order Dainite soles for them. He went to his back room and came back with a pair that he’d ordered a few years ago. Anyway, they transformed the boots. Extremely comfortable, good traction, and work well in the saddle. Don’t feel like they’ll hang up in a stirrup. Thanks for your channel!!
