Vince might be a terrible person but at least he knows what its like to struggle and to live like a somewhat normal person and gained the majority of his wealth off his own back. Vince at the same age as Tony could more than handle himself if a fight broke out. Tony has never had to struggle a day in his life and airing that footage just showed how much of a sheltered coward he is.

Tony continues to be the biggest problem with AEW. Also long as people like Meltzer, the DoucheBucks, Jericho, and Mercedes praise him, he'll never admit or accept the problems with the company. Releasing the ALL-IN footage has only seen AEW ratings and attendance drop more and more every week. It also proves that CM Punk really was the biggest draw they had. Of course, Tony also continues to stand on the hill the ALL got 81k people in attendance when it was proven to be 73k and does not "break the record." It's still an impressive number but it's not the best. He refused to acknowledge the existence of the Clash in Korea records, even if many people were forced to be there, it's still the record. Tony continues to become more like Vince every day, and AEW continues to go the way of WCW. Doing everything that brought about the downfall of that company.

Yeah, send the garganos and the rest of the Indy garbage to Tony.

One thing i have to mention that i have noticed in Geekdom's criticism of TK and btw i am aware of how bad AEW is now, its almost unwatchable but every criticism Geekdom has done is basically about how TK is a billionaire and has money instead of only criticizing his business decisions and creative decisions. I don't know, i felt it came off as salty more than anything, but that's just my opinion.

@NoName-cz3wn28 күн бұрын
I can't believe I'm gonna defend TK, but I don't see ANYONE mentioning this, so I will: Maybe the reason it "secured the WBD" deal has nothing to do with ratings. Maybe WBD were furious that he fired Punk after Collision, and even more furious hearing that Punk wanted out BEFORE Collision was even announced. By showing the footage, he can say "look, I had to fire him", taking the heat off himself... Now, why he wouldn't show them privately? Prob just an ego thing tbh. Children love saying "I know you are, but what am I?"

Collision was set up in part because of Punk, hence Punk's two separate contracts for two positions: wrestler and producer.

This whole ordeal was Khans fault. He let this stuff go and build up. The whole Hangman thing should have been handled by Tony right away. When it came to Perry... It should have Tony at the entry to Gorilla telling him to pack his bag and get out. You don't let bottom card talent antagonize your stars to the point that they retaliate. Tony should have told Punk, "No, I got this stand over there and watch". But Khan is a coward. Too afraid of confrontation. Even when he has all the power.
@JoshCarlos199828 күн бұрын
And you can’t say “ratings don’t matter” when TK himself boasted about that punk footage rating on Twitter. So clearly he cares about that metric & since then it’s been going down as well as the quality of the product. It’s funny too, around the beginning of March or so they were producing good tv then it took somewhat of nosedive in the summer but it did have some good stories going into All In like Toni storm/May & MJF/Ospreay plus Bryan’s moment winning the AEW title against Swerve. After that? A steep decline quality wise. Hopefully they can regroup next year but after this? I’m not hopeful tbh.

I think you hit the nail on the head about what Tony knows about wrestling. I am not sure how true the source is, but I heard from the grapevine that even the Young Bucks themselves were initially reluctant to show the footage, but something must have happened backstage, so the angle went ahead. Honestly, I have no idea what caused this change in Khan. Compare how he conducts himself in 2019 to now, well ... either the meteoric success of AEW got to his head, Khan got influenced by the worst of the IWC (the core of the AEW hardliner fan base), or a combination of both. This looks like typical prideful people behavior, where they have to justify their deeds even when it backfired on them hard. Is it too late to reverse course? Of course not, but if the driver of the car refuses to listen, there's no point.

I think that what will likely happen over the coming years if AEW fails to regain momentum and if ratings continue to decline is that many top stars will start leaving when their contracts come up. If Tony Khan fails to address this issue, TV deal or not, if key stars start to bleed out of the company that will affect AEW's ability to hold ratings further and it could slip in to a being a third tier wrestling company behind TNA.
