I get the feeling that she is so paranoid about infidelity because she wants to be able to catch someone _before_ they cheat in some kind of warped effort to un-victimized herself from being the victim of cheating in the past. Either way, it's pretty clear that this woman is nuts.

Any test in a relationship is manipulative at best and hence worth breaking up over. Even if the partner passed the faithfulness test, the fact she needed that exposes she cannot trust and cannot be trusted.

I've never understood the logic of testing someone in a relationship. If you're caught, you can't backtrack to save yourself. And to expect someone to accept it and act like it was so big deal is beyond toxic. And her logic for testing him, if you want to open the door for the same toxic behaviors, by all means do so.

Story 2 pisses me off. Talking about it as "an affair" and the casual "he banged my mom was a turnoff". Her predator Mom took advantage of a teenage student that she had authority over. The guy still feels guilt over the situation years later which is not uncommon for teenagers who were taken advantage of by married adults. And boys are socialised with the message that they are never victims of women. The guy threw up after having to be around the predator again. And the OP just wants to rug-sweep it as an awkward incident. She dumped him for being taken advantage of by a predator teacher when he was a teenager.

Yeah, the casual way she said banging my mom was a turn-off rather than he was taken advantage of by her predator mom. Even if he had just turned 18, there's a power dynamic that a teacher has with a student that prevents true consent. His vomitting in response to being around her might be a response to trauma but boys are socialised to thing that they're not the victim and that "they're lucky" if an older woman takes advantage of them.

Story 1: she was just looking for a reason to break up with him where he looked like the bad guy. Also for anyone that thinks it’s a good idea to test your partner this way, it’s not. You are literally punishing them for the mistakes of your previous partners
@Arkryal
@Arkryal Ай бұрын
Yeah, I've had a few girlfriends try to "test" me in the past. I'm pathologically monogamous... why would I need two women when I have only one penis? It seems like a lot more work for severely diminishing returns, lol. So I never had any issues "passing" the tests, but it never sat right with me. I know it comes more from their own sense of insecurity, and isn't really about me, but it still feels condescending and disrespectful. Those relationships were always short lived, not because of the frequent "tests", but usually because of the underlying insecurity that caused it. Also the excessive texting, snooping, online stalking me, etc. Then I met another girl. She was the same, but in a very different way, if that makes any sense, lol. She also had some insecurities due to past relationships that went wrong. But she actually talked to me about that. Groundbreaking, I know, lol. Imagine being direct, honest and communicative instead of suspicious. The thing is, once she told me how she gets anxious when I'm away, I actually didn't mind checking in with her periodically to assuage her anxieties. It wasn't a chore that would trigger a fight if I didn't do it, nobody was twisting my arm. And since I was the one taking the initiative for her benefit, it was a lot easier for her to build some more trust in me. It actually got better. The OP isn't a bad person for feeling insecure, many people deal with that. What matters is HOW you deal with it. You can be honest and respectful and work together to both become better for your partner, or you can just walk all over them to assuage your fears in the moment, not fix anything in the process and then do it all over again the next time you feel that way, until eventually they get fed up with it and walk out.

Society has normalize certain bad behaviors from tv and the movies for so long ,that guy are condition or trained that those toxic tendencies are normal or even cute in a relationship and that was how it was for hundreds of years which is false. Another reason that is also common is he isn't good at attracting women and latches on to the first woman that accepts him. He doesn't think he is worthy of someone better.
