Deluxe Advanced Squad Leader

As you know Dave, I just purchased my own Deluxe ASL module! I don't have any miniatures though. I think it would be fun to try out some of the Deluxe=specific scenarios sometime....after DtF of course!

Hi David. Im very very new to Avalon hill games and squad leader (not ASL). I was hoping you can answer some questions. 1. What are the "heroic" red tiles for. I kinda understand them but not really. 2. Can you talk about any basic strategies? Your videos are really great and helpful and without your explanations on squad leader and the guard counter attack. I would have given up on the game. Please answer if you can. I have many questions 😂

Hi Tony! Thank you for your question! 1: Those red counters are found only in the original Squad Leader, although there are some pink ones in Cross of Iron. The Red ones are for squads that go berserk. See rule 18.4 to 18.43 2: Basic strategies? That all depends on the scenario itself, but there are some general maxims. a: Always stay focused on the goal. Know the victory conditions for your scenario and do what you can to attain those goals and to prevent the opponent from attaining his. b: Always ask: Why am I prep firing? If there is no useful reason why that unit should not be moving instead, then always ask why prep fire. The game is won mostly through manoeuvre and not through fire. Please feel free to ask more!

GHQ miniatures are 1/285 most 6mm miniatures are 1/300. They are much better quality than their smaller cousins. Its worth noting if you have the models, rules sets like Fist Full of Tows 3 are infinately more playable than ASL.

I have the originals, but being the dumbass that I am, I lost the vehicle cards, so I got the new version just for them. Yeah, I told you I was a dumbass haha.
