I used to use dope to shrink the tissue on my model airplanes, but when I realized how extremely toxic the dope was, I gave up the hobby completely several years ago. However, I recently tried some Eze Dope as a substitute and I was delighted with the results. And so now I am able to enjoy my favorite hobby once again. Thank you!!!!

The step of spraying with dope diluted with water is a must if you are using very lightweight tissue. Being water based the dope makes the tissue very fragile and overbrushing will tear it. And you need to be careful with getting it evenly spread. if part of a wing dries and the rest is still wet, the wet part will split.

Good instructional narration. Old school.

I bought it and tried it for my Christmas presents before finding this video. It did work ok, but I have a feeling that I'm going to need some more experience with it before I can give it an honest opinion. But thus far, it applies easily, is low to no odor, and dries fast. I'll give it a try on my 1903 Wright Flyer next.

Yes main point is to dilute it 30% dope 70% water.

I like CA glue as it dries quickly. I just bought a clear cutting mat to put on top of directions for next model to prevent attachment to directions and/or wax paper. Will also try some SuperPhatic then.

Leaves small bubbles on the surface of the tissue. Leaves it rough and wrinkled. It does look like PVA glue diluted with water but seems waterproof when dry.

A clear, short, and helpful demo of these products. I have used the Super'Phatic in the past and I am very happy with how it worked on my models. If you have any interest in send me samples I would be happy to use them on models or projects and post images and/or video with constructive comments. :-) I went to Deluxe Materials site and love your wide range of interesting modeling products that I have not seen in our area (near Anchorage Alaska). My 7 yr old daughter and I love to experiment!

It's just white glue with water. Dope has the advantage of being water proof!

Start here then read down for whole comment. I'm using Tissue Paste for putting tissue on a plane. However in stead of using it as video suggests (wets the tissue too much and it rips too easily) I apply it in dots an inch apart around wide frame parts or a blob on my cutting mat and then use a small brush to spread the paste evenly. Then I have to let it dry before using a blade to remove the excess tissue. It almost seems easier to use a glue stick, though I've never used one.

Standard zap-a-gap super glue and accelerator works better than super 'phatic glue, and it's cheaper as well

The video only shows the user getting tissue on the flat part of a wing, I'd like to see the tissue applied top the top and perhaps to the compound curves typically seen on wingtips. The poster obviously was able to do this as the parts are later shown covered. I like the idea of nontoxic dope, but will tissue doped with EZE DOPE fall apart if it gets wet?

If it isn't toxic, how can it be good?
