Thank you for a great instructional video! This helps a lot for me in learning how to build out of balsa and covering the frame.

Answered my question. I used regular dope for years and always wet covered and got good results. I wondered about wet covering with a water based dope. Looks do able

Quite impressed by it,a lot less hassle than using Cellulose dope,made for a really good finish,much easier to work with all round.

Not really, I have tried it and after it dries it doesnt harden the paper at all.

cool, so dope is like an adhesive when it comes to applying it on the aircraft so the fabrics can stick? sorry if my sentence structure makes no sense

Good morning my question is: Can the final finish be painted with Tamiya-type modeling paints? thank you
@angelreading50986 жыл бұрын
I now use Ezydope for all of my models,I like it because you can safely use it indoors without any smell,this is especially useful all year around when it is not suitable for doping in damp or humid conditons with conventional cellulose dopes,another advantage with Ezydope is it is not as brittle as ordinary dope finishes,it leaves a lovely sheen that strengthens the tissue,DeLuxe materials have brought doping into the home environment all year around which to me is a big plus,ok it is not cheap but it certainly goes a long way.

The last time I used cellulose dope it was on a rubber powered model and I was dissapointed with the finish. It turned out patchy in places and it shrunk too much in places distorting the framework. I was told to thin the dope the next time but have yet to try that. The best traditional finish I've seen was coloured tissue aplyed dampened then when dry finished with banana oil but not sure if that's available anymore,however this stuff does look like it's worth trying.

Has anyone tried to use a small amount of alcohol mixed with eze dope to dry quickly

What process did you use to print the coloures and graphics on the tissue?

Is it waterproof when dry? Can I apply decals to the surface without the tissue sagging?

Probably spray coat or two with thinned clear

I have tried every combination ov White or water based glues and diluted mixtures, but it is not the same as EZ Dope. Especially on larger Models with larger sheeted areas. The way it strenghthens the wood is not achievable (by Me anway) with white glue recipes. I heard them say fuel proof, but am skeptical. I do have a question though; Has anyone ever tried doping silk, or polyspan with EZ Dope? If not I am going to do a test.

I used it on muslin.Did not make it very taut and of course resulted in a rough finish.I used muslin because of it's strength and it was available locally.I sugest not using tissue.Can"t pull it tight without it tearing.Possibly silkspan or silk.Too bad silk ant cellulose dope are not as available as in the old days. Unfortunately it sounds like this may now be unusable. Please return it to the store you bought it from and exchange it for another. Apologies for any inconvenience. And thank you for using Deluxe Materials products!

Uh... Isn't the just watered-down Elmer's glue?
@doggoman505 жыл бұрын
I don"t know about that,but it makes tissue incredibly tough. Mabe too touhg.It's actually hard to cut with an exacto knife.It does not give a taut result like cellulose dopees'unless I'm doing something wrong.

It dries to 50% of its weight because it'd 50% water and 50% PVA glue!! The water dries and evaporates. Waste of money. PVA is super cheap to buy ezidope is not cheap!!!! ANSWERE buy PVA!!!
@DeluxeMaterials17 жыл бұрын
True it is an emulsion. It has lots of advantages over conventional dope. If you buy PVA you are venturing into the unknown but by all means give it a go.John
