She was a baller during her playing career, we're sure her b-ball IQ is solid. That being said, what has she built? As a coach what wins does she have? How about four or five championships in wnba on her resume, cant argue against a solid resume. The pros want the right coach for the right situation. Trying to call history in real time is arrogant and wack.

Lmao what??! Solid example of a wildly sexist mindset, where a woman has to accomplish exponentially more than a man to get the same position. There’s a litany of NBA coaches (Miami has a great one) who didn’t have anything close to the resume she has when they got hired.

You don't have to be a great player to be a great coach. Some great players don't really become average coaches. Coaching requires something different.

@@tupufiapetaia6782 Actually, most great players are terrible head coaches. The only one who was any good was Larry Bird (And Bill Russell if you count his days as a player coach with the Celtics). But most great coaches were role players because they can relate to everyone. Guys who were stars often have a hard time communicating their message because they'll often say something like "do this...." and your average NBA player just can't replicate what a star did.

Look I get it. It’s 2021 you wanna give everybody a fair opportunity. Lets take a step back though.. Is it really practical to have this woman coach a group of guys at the highest level? Men are already egotistical but you are coaching pro athletes! I don’t think it’ll go well personally but thats my opinion.

Here’s where I think you’re stepping too far back You’re forgetting that Becky has been part of the coaching staff for several seasons now since 2014 This is a unique case because the players who’ve played with her on staff are use to her and clearly have their ego in check so it’s possible for her at least For other women it really depends

These are PRO athletes.. Meaning they understand the chain of command. It wouldn’t be hard taking direction from a woman especially if she’s proven. It’s a primitive and quite frankly stupid way of thinking for professional athletes, keyword: professional, not to take direction from a woman. I think that you’d have a hard time with it and your projecting your feelings on it. I could be wrong though

@@lightningjuniorsuper Yeah, I am not understanding people who are saying she has no experience...She was an assistant for Pop for EIGHT years. A lot of NBA guys got hired with far less experience. So, if this is something she wants (she's got a great gig in Vegas right now...making a lot of $$ & has the best team), I think she can get it eventually.

I’m not sure how the best basketball players in the world can take a female coach seriously. I doubt a team will as a leader. I think she’d be great in the WNBA but not the NBA. That’s like a female head coach in the NFL. What could she seriously teach someone like LeBron or Tom Brady. Men don’t look at females as leaders, as they are not. But they’re going to try and push her hard for a serious go for head coach. I don’t understand how as an adult man you can have a female try and discipline you.

She probably knows more offensive and defensive team concepts, systems and player tendencies than most assistant coaches in the league. She will coach the Spurs when Greg Poppovich retires if she's not coaching for another team. All the players love her, she won the 2015 nba summer league title and she's been along for the ride since 2014. They respect her, she's compassionate and she cares about her players, women can lead you have to look at the science. I think she's either underrated or overrated all the time because she's a woman. Her time will come and I want her to coach the Spurs, she's the most qualified to take on Pop's legacy.
