That was awesome! So fun. So, hot take. Travel ball should definitely just use Alloy USSSA bats, no composites. Because of the points Eric brought up and I have been saying that for a long time now with those composite travel bats. Plus, the inflated costs of composite USSSA bats is insane and they are not durable at all. It's nuts.

Yeah but some dads will be all butt hurt when jr can't mis-hit home runs anymore.
@justindunn74672 жыл бұрын
Yup, since the transition to USABat for little league, USSSA literally exists just for travel ball tournaments/showcases. My son's travel ball league (USABL) actually requires USA too and doesn't allow USSSA. He only has a USSSA bat for the odd non-league tournament our team will play.

@@KenGaska 100% agree. 60/90/BBCOR transition is the great equalizer.
@Dr.MalcomsBrokenLeg2 жыл бұрын
@@justindunn7467 I think the USSSA Alloy bats are hot enough compared to all USA bats. Still plenty of options, you can actually hear foul tips with alloy and they are cheaper and more durable. Better barrel profile for realistic understanding of your swing and where it is at and what needs work.
@VidaBlue3179 ай бұрын
I don't think that Redline was the hottest bat of the late '90s, but I could be wrong. Easton and Louisville Slugger had a lot of -5 contenders: Reflex Extended, Z-Core, white TPX... The trampoline effect of those thin-walled bats probably killed some people - my college roommate had to get reconstructive surgery after taking a missile straight to the face.

What do you think is better for a contact hitter the 2022 demarini voodo one or the 2021 LV meta bothe -3 bbcor
@RealAquaticRyan2 жыл бұрын
Metas have larger sweet spots so it’s easier to barrel balls up, however they are composite so they will need to be broken in to be anywhere close to the voodoo in terms of exit velo. Meta is also pretty expensive and the voodoo breaks often. For pure contact I think I would go meta but both are great

What he said abt Adley is spot on. Dude was hitting nukes with the green zen right handed. He switches to left breaks out the wood and is hitting bombs that don't even seem real. Ppl don't realize how hard it is to hit with wood. Just go to how talented he and you guys are. Keep grindin

I wish you could find highlights of Joe Carter’s (Blue Jays Joe Carter) Larry Carter. My dad played slow pitch softball with him. I would see him routinely hit softballs over the lights in center field, I think dead center was 340. It was amazing to see. He even made sportscenter when Joe was in the all star game, he hit a softball to the 3rd deck at Three Rivers Stadium. I cannot imagine what he would do with a Redline.

Truth be told I don't recall ever having a slump in the summer. When it's summer and school is out and you are just being a kid and enjoying summer.....you can't help but to ball out. I loved when Burns was on the A's. I believe Eric played in the same SJMSBL league I played in, (he was a number of years after me). I used a -5 Easton ZCore Redline with the Sc500 Scanadium Alloy on my MSBL team. I fielded some line drives at 2nd base hit by some former MLB, minor league and Div1 players in that league that tore my arm off. Now with people measuring exit velocities, I am sure some of those balls were 105+ I still have that bat, too!!! I let some kids on my son's PONY team hit with it at practice and they were shocked at how hot it was. 2 3/4" barrel with trampoline..LOL Yikes.
