Gotta do this job later in the year!! Checking for handy tips! The twinwall pipe makes sense!

Great job, sensible to use 25mm MDPE, too many peeps would use the 20mm pipe for such a short distance. Some water companies allow you to use 32mm MDPE instead of 25mm, great if you have good mains pressure & Twinwall Ducting End Caps are readily available.

Hi Stuart, interestingly I asked our local water company about using 32mm and they said they only use 25mm to the meter. I assumed at that point the larger MDPE was possibly a bit redundant? But I'm not sure to be honest. Many thanks for taking the time to comment. Keep well.

Love the home made core drill! Did you use anything to check for hidden cables etc or just take it steady?
@dembydish4 ай бұрын
Good morning. I rewired my home so I was aware of the location of the service entrance cables. Otherwise, I would have checked first. Always a good idea to verify these things for any home owner. Thank you for your comment and please subscribe if you feel inclined.

Great job, what's your dynamic pressure before and after the work?
@dembydish5 ай бұрын
I forgot to measure it with a pressure gauge, but it was noticeably better. I was more concerned that it is up to spec and will last me out and I got rid of the lead. There's peace of mind especially as the pipe runs under the driveway (which is now finished!) Thank you for your kind comment.

@@dembydish That's great. United Utilities regs are different for my area in the NW, they recommend 100mm ducting, whereas I think you used 55mm. I bought 110mm Twinwall ducting and for the end caps I bought Multikwik Drain & Waste Adaptor MKUAB 2283. There are different brands that make exactly the same thing and even some in B&Q but basically its a rubber soil waste reducer cap which I can cut a cross section to feed the mains 25mm MDPE pipe snugly through. I got my caps of ebay, £10 for a pack of 2.

What happens if the don't find lead their end? If the don't change to bigger diameter I'm guessing your flow would remain the same?
@dembydish Жыл бұрын
Hi Bill, when they came to dig up the pavement to connect my mdpe pipe to the meter, they discovered that their feed pipe to the meter had already been changed to 25mm mdpe. I admit this was a bit disappointing. However, just replacing the lead from meter to house did improve the flow to a degree, not massively but observable. The area where I live does not have high water pressure, but I've managed to achieve the best results available to me and the pipe is now up to code and good for years to come. I could make another video on trying to organise the connection and the chaos that followed! Thanks for your comment. Please subscribe.

@@dembydishdid u still need water pump? Can this pump be installed on 15mm main pipe?
@dembydish9 ай бұрын
@@Aliens4world Hello, yes I still use the pump which has a maximum fixed output of 10 liters per minute (if memory serves). This is better than what the water mains provides otherwise it wouldn't switch on. The pump comes with adapters so it can be attached to 15 or 22 mm copper pipe. Hope this helps and please subscribe. Thanks for your comment.

What size is the corrugated conduit and the insulation ?

What twinwall ducting is that? I bought rigiduct, but it has no flexibility at all.

Should’ve used 32mm black poly propylene for underground water supply that will last for ever, while high density polyethylene is used for inside the house
@NAFO_Badger_Brigade4 ай бұрын
I thought the same - though wonder whether there is a difference in real terms?
@UKsystems3 ай бұрын
Black pipe is not appropriately coloured for this use and this one will last good enough plastic pipe should not be there for ever as it will start breaking down into the water
