It's paraprosdokian humour, and Mitch Hedberg, great as he was, didn't create it. Steven Wright and Emo Philips were doing it way before Mitch, and even legends like Rodney Dangerfield and Groucho Marx used this style of humor often. Demetri is just another in the line, and he does it well.
