I really wish DJ would step back into the octagon for a few fights. It's wild how so many people have only just discovered him after his retirement-his social media has absolutely blown up! Being a gamer has brought in a whole new crowd to appreciate him. I’ve been following UFC since the early days, though my interest has come and gone over the years-kind of like with football. It honestly took me a while to really care about the lightweight fighters, but over time, I think we’ve all grown to appreciate the incredible skillsets of the smaller guys. Sure, they might not be able to beat the big guys physically, but their technique and precision are unmatched. I enjoy hearing DJ speak; he’s got such a great perspective, and clearly, a lot of others feel the same way. Seeing him fight again is probably just wishful thinking, but hey, a guy can dream, right?

My only wish is to have him appear in the UFC again, the organization with the biggest eyeballs. It’s night and day with the fan base compared to 2018, vs now. If Mighty takes this fight I think it will negate his entire retirement and how he talks about his career and what it means to him. He has said for years he has nothing more to prove even when he was in ONE championship. The guy is 38, he can 100% still fight but why take the risk? He is happy and healthy as a fighter, especially as a successful one which is not common. The only reason to take the fight is money, nothing more. The UFC has screwed him over and Dana personally insulted his status. He doesn't want to bend the knee to the UFC and GOOD. I hope he doesn't give in as much as I do want to see him fight again. Let the guy retire in peace. The legacy is still there.
