Andrade is out here playing dumb like he didn't pull out of his chance to be in Ryder's mandatory spot just to cherrypick a 60th journeyman in the most pointless fight he could possibly take. Then he turns around and full blown lies to cover his tracks and hype himself up like people don't have access to google and can easily debunk his claims lol. No, Canelo was never his mandatory at 154. Andrade's only fight with the 154 belt was vs Rose who WAS his mandatory while Canelo was fighting Lara who Andrade wanted no part of. Andrade then infamously pulled out vs Jermell and went MIA and got stripped then refused to ever challenge for a title there again. He was later in line to face Jermell a second time this time as mandatory to Jermell's WBC title but he gave up his spot AGAIN while also saying he'd avoid WBA super champ Lara just to fight Culcay for a minor belt (look it up). It was Andrade giving up mandatory opportunities at 154 but he's out here trying to twist it. And no, undisputed at 160 was never on the table: After Canelo beat actual division top dogs GGG and Jacobs, the IBF ordered he face mandatory Derevyachenko but Derevyachenko dragged his feet rejecting career high money. Golden Boy then requested Canelo be allowed to unify with Andrade instead but the IBF president Daryl Peoples rejected his request and stripped him instead in an open letter. Again, you can find this with a basic google search. The irony is that Canelo tried to fight Andrade during the only window Andrade was relevant to his career for undisputed but was shut down, yet Andrade is out here lying about that and also lying about Canelo being his mandatory when Andrade is the one who actually rejected his mandatory chance vs Canelo after all his talk of wanting the fight. Matter of fact, he pulled out of four straight purse bids, two 160 mandatories vs Janibek who would have been the only live dog he faced in years and also two 168 eliminators for a shot at Canelo, instead he'd rather sit on his couch for a year then turn up fighting a rando journeyman, even more embarrassing got dropped in that fight. No one who's followed Andrade's career should be surprised by those moves because he's a guy who spent the bulk of his career ducking and pulling out of step up fights while not even doing the minimum of keeping an active schedule.

He didn't just give up his 160 belt, he also rejected a mandatory shot vs Canelo to take the most pointless fight possible. He doesn't know about grinding, besides rejecting title shots, he doesn't even stay busy, averaging 1 fight a year. Meanwhile at 168, he's between a rock and a hard place because he accomplished nothing at 154-160 and any top ranked guy at 168 represents a threat. If he loses to a guy who's not a big name, pretty much his entire career has been a waste without making big money. So I wouldn't be surprised if he continues protecting his 0 holding out for a cash out.

@@Dr_Magi No. It easy to place blame on Andrade for his past dealings with Showtime, while giving passes to the guys that were with the same promoter and network when he was with DAZN. Us fans can't advocate for boxing politics while pocket watching for our preferred fighters but magically fail to keep the same energy for non preferred fighters. Example. Canelo never went for undisputed at 160 against Andrade because he was ordered to fight his IBF mandatory Derevyanchenko at 160. Derevyanchenko never got his shot at Canelo due to purse bid disputes. Canelo moved up. So Canelo didn't fight Andrade for undisputed, nor did he fight Derevyanchenko his mandatory. The latter being a documented and used excuse to why the undisputed matchup never happened. GGG would rather fight guys like Szeremeta and Rolls rather than unify against Andrade or move up or down for high quality matchups during his prime. BJS was scheduled to fight Andrade but popped for peds. Never rescheduled and moved up to 168. I've been following boxing for a long while. Us fans don't want to keep the same energy across the board, even when it's at our own detriment.

@@Dr_Magi Promoters work for fighters, not the other way around. Andrade has always had a high risk factor for fighters, regardless of the reward. Hence the reason why guys haven't been interested in fighting him even for significant amounts of money. Its unfortunate that most fighters and fans don't have a win, lose or draw mindset. As I said, it takes two guys to want to mix it up regardless of promotional backing. That goes for the younger generation of fighters as well. At the end of the day, Andrade will either get the big fights at 168 with PBC or he won't. If he doesn't, people need to levy blame across the board accordingly.

It's not just Jermell, he also avoided title fights with Korobov (rejected WBO 160 mandatory shot), Andy Lee (for the same belt), Jermell a second time (mandatory shot for Mell's WBC 154 belt), Lara (for Lara's WBA super title, saying he'd rather fight minor belt Culcay), Derevyachenko (pulled out of talks), Jacobs (said he'd rather stay friends), mandatory Janibek twice (for the WBO 160 belt), and Parker twice (eliminator for the WBO 168). The guy has rejected title fights in 3 divisions while refusing to fight 90% of the opposition yet plays dumb and even tries to lie to cover his tracks. As we speak, champ Janibek is actively calling him out yet he refuses even though he's never fought a champ or ex champ in his career.

@@Eric23446 Before you comment; you should know facts, Fielding was Canelo’s first fight at 168 between GGG 2 and Jacobs fight. Fielding was WBA Regular Champion but still a champion. That was basically a test run to see how Canelo would do at 168. Yildirim was WBC mandatory prior to Canelo getting the WBC belt. Yildirim was mandatory to Benavidez but Benavidez was stripped due to not making weight. So it was either fight Yildirim or be stripped of the belt Canelo won the fight before vs Smith.
