Seeing Demi happy, thriving and healthy is so heartwarming. She deserves the best. She’s been through so much and people always have something to say about her… the documentary is very good and you can see she really wants to take action to help future generation.

I caught the way that was phrased... even though I was going through so much and mental health struggles etc, it was the respectful thing to do... doesn't REALLY sound like she is taking ownership of her actions. I wish Maculley Culkin was one of these people. He was so young, and I know his Father pushed him into an acting career to the point where he had no childhood, certainly not a normal childhood. You've got Lisa Presley who was born into that lifestyle so she was never having a normal childhood and even Michael Jackson who countless celebrities and others said he was just a performer to the public, never mind his mental health and whipped if he (previously) ever got a step wrong at home from an abusive father. There was also Judy Garland, where she was controlled by tablets to be active when she was sleepy to reherse and do those kinds of things and she wasn't allowed to have a slice of cake in her diet 😔 I just watched Elizabeth Taylor the Rebel the other day and she was controlled by her weight and what she could and couldn't eat as a woman to stay a certain shape and weight and then if celebrities do put on any they have the whole world critiquing their body

I’m sorry you had or suffered from stardom but you always had the option to walk away. If your parents forced you then that an issue you should have with them. I know that being a star shouldn’t have to be this hard but again you always could have walked away. If you were too young to handle this then your guardian should have stepped in to save you.
@straight_up_geek_29 күн бұрын
She was extremely young- so then a lot of the blame would go on the industry and/or guardians. She never says that she has excuses for anything, though. She acknowledges that it’s her responsibility to deal with, even if it wasn’t her fault. I used to think the same way when I was a kid, but now that I’m 24, I realized that no one ever truly understands something until they go through it themselves.
@thisIsFun123-f3c2 ай бұрын
It seems like over the years, she has slowly become desensitized or more comfortable with sharing these kinds of stories. The one thing that I'm still curious about is the fact that she hasn't spoken about the pedophilia problem of Hollywood, which other former child stars have brought up before in their experiences.
@straight_up_geek_29 күн бұрын
I mean she was groomed herself by a man who was 29 when she was 17, and she’s spoken about it and wrote an entire song. And being too sensitive about these topics is actually a good thing. The reason no one spoke up before was because people never spoke about it. Backwards thinking right there.

I don’t understand how people with sexual identity issues, can say they were just born that way.. every single one of those women that they showed have had abnormal behavior (same sex, bi, trans, etc), and you can see how abused they were. Clearly there is a connection. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.
Or, they were traumatized by their environment and the people in their lives casting them aside and ostracizing them because they are LGBT. 🤷🏻♀️
