It’s so interesting to watch her face while she plays the piano. She really lets her guard down...

At 1:41 does she say that letting her past define her as a person hurts? I couldn't quite make that word out. x
@ValerieGrace1710 жыл бұрын

@robhall981510 жыл бұрын

Yes, you're right. I wrote out a full transcript since I love her and she's awesome: First she says something like "You left a box for your ring up here." [this is because a soldier proposed to his girlfriend on stage earlier] _"Before I erm...before I go on, normally during these shows, I like to talk to you about who I am and what I've been through. And if you're here tonight you already know what I've been through. To be quite honest. And you know what I'm saying - what I stand for. And I feel like there's no need to repeat it over and over again. Everytime I do I feel like I am taking you back in the past, and letting my past define me as a person and it hurts. And I told myself on this tour I am no longer going to let that happen. From now on..._ [Cheering] _From now on, I want to share who I am - the quirks, and how I _*_love_*_ playing piano. That I never _*_did_*_ play before - you know - during my shows like I just did. And...because- I don't know - I was too busy talking about my past. And now I want to share with you another thing that erm- means a lot to me: I went to Africa for my 21st birthday._ [Cheering] _And I had the most amazing time. Erm...one thing I will say is:...erm...I...For m- You don't have to go out and get hammered for your 21st birthday. Like...some people _*_do_*_ and that's totally fine. I personally _*_can't_*_ and so I chose to celebrate my life in another way. And the way that I did that was with a charity called Free the Children. And I went with...Yeah they're awesome. I went with a bunch of my friends and my closest erm...and my family and er...one of...one of the people that I got to spend a ton of time with was Spencer West. You guys all heard him speak tonight, right?_ [Cheering] _I will say, that there's _*_nothing_*_ more inspiring to me, than meeting someone and hearing about their life who has no legs yet he's climbed Mount Kilimanjaro._ [Cheering] _You can't get out of bed this morning? He climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. So...just....let that sit for a second. I had the most amazing time up there. And...we got to...we got to...well he already knew them but, I met these warriors - they're called Maasai warriors and they are so strong and they are so inspirational. And they have...they have mamas of the tribes that make these necklaces. And they actually- they're outside at the 'merch' tables. Erm...they are called rafiki beads - rafiki friend chains. Oh you guys have got some? Cute! Those bracelets or necklaces - you can do either one. What you're wearing - those were hand-made by the mamas of the tribes. And so each necklace - every single penny that goes...that - you know - comes from that necklace, it goes to the mamas of the tribes. And so that they are not only...yeah! So that they aren't taking and taking from charity but they _*_are_*_ accepting and building from the ground up. And becoming self-sufficient. And that's what's incredible. And so...it...do yourself a favour and erm...do something good tonight - get yourself one of those chains because they help _*_so much_*_. Anyways, in some of...in some of the...I'll give this to you later - it's real distracting right now. Erm...talking about that box. Erm...ahem. [sigh] Back to Africa - I erm...it was an incredible, incredible journey, and I want to share this with you. So I'm no longer singing this song about...emalevabeen...not that I ever was a victim. But this is about somebody other than _*_myself_*_. And there is nothing more powerful than getting outside of yourself and doing good for others. So this is...this is for all of my warriors - including you and the Maasai warriors."_
