True, Taylor does not have the vocal range of many of her compatriots. She is however an excellent song writer which is still rare in the pop industry. Most pop singers have a team of writers that provide lyrics, composition, and arrangement. They then, mold it to the artist's strengths and abilities. I take nothing away from an excellent vocalist. From what I've heard of the artists mentioned in this thread they all seem to do the very best with what they have and do not fake or embellish their talents. I applaud the integrity in that. It's not auto tune. Auto tune is an old 1990s thing. Auto tune is Kanye West and T-pain. What you're hearing is a compression microphone and then the vocal put through Melodyne which is PITCH CORRECTION. And it's not about correcting her notes because they're off key. It's about correcting in fine detail beginning and endings of words you sing.

She also has had a terrible team for a long time who arranged her shows so badly that she didn't get enough rest and her voice was damaged most of the time. Most of the performances included in this video for instance are some of her worst despite being so popular because her voice is damaged. She even had respiratory issues during some of these. She had to get her tonsils removed at some point because she was constantly getting sick and this led to a change in her tone. She used to have a sweet and unique tone, she doesn't have that anymore. In short, she has her good and bad moments, though even her best may not be up to your taste. It just might not be what you're into.
