Her comments on being a "popcorn actress" after winning a big award for starring in what many might similarly dismiss as a "popcorn genre" film is both a vindication for her and for horror as an art form. She deserves the Oscar too, just to drive it home.

I finally got around to watching The Substance over the new year's break. It really wasn't my cup of tea, but I can still appreciate it for what it was going for. And I'm glad I saw it. I can also appreciate it for the spotlight it shone on Demi. I think she certainly deserves the recognition for her work in that movie. You know it's a crazy world we live in when an established actress only finally gets a nod from the establishment for starring in an anti-establishment, weird-as-hell, movie.

It's definitely a certain flavor of horror.

The Substance was definitely my number 1 movie of the year....past few years, actually.

While i agree that Demi Moore deserved the win for her brilliant performance in the substance, i absolutely despise the fact that the award was for a Comedy/Musical, which obviously neither genre was that movie. They should finally create an award for Horror movies!

Yeah that category title is ridiculous.

Im so glad Demi Moore got an award for the Sunstance. She gave such a great performance to her character. I hope there's more big acting roles for her now as its good to see her on screen again. Also my favourite film was G.I Jane as it was so different to the other movies she played in at the time + it was a powerful performance from her too. Great video as always Lee 😎👍🏴

What funny though is that my introduction with Auntie Demi is Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle especially that scene where she came in and starting having a conversation with Cameron Diaz's character at the beach while doing little mission that they doing, and also pieces of "Ghost" as well. Another thing is that speaking of her personal life, let not forget she was married to Ashton Kutcher at the time back in the 2000s. Also, plus, I'm did got the chance to see "The Substance" at the movies since yesterday, and I really like it, yes, it's not gonna everyone's cup of tea, however, despite the gory & the nastiness, I'm do like not only the concept but the theme & the message around it how nuances sprinkled on it especially how women (who are middle-age or senior citizen) that they get treated unfairly because your looks are not 'desirable' like they used to back in the day, especially in hollywood in the industry, while you have somebody like her character Elizabeth Sparkles is doing well, ages like fine as wine and always stay in shape even though she getting older. Overall, I thought the film was good, but it's well-done though. Plus, not gonna lie, Aunt Demi is fine as hell, and she still beautiful till this day, also, lowkey, I kinda like her in Striptease, idk why, I'm guess I like being sexy (and naked) while dancing on stage, even though, she playing a character in the movie, and also, she is my girl crush, so, I'm probably holla at her in the 90s in her younger days. (Sorry I don't mean to be a 'pervert'), it's just she beautiful as hell, damn I love her, lol. 😏😍😍💋💋 Side note: my favorite movie of 2024 is "Wicked" 💚💗🎵🎶

Gonna be honest, I've never been a fan of Demi Moore. Don't know why. I feel like maybe I thought she was snobby or something. I'm from the 90s so I didn't really know her as part of the Brat Pack. I only knew her as like the lady from Ghost or GI Jan, which I haven't watched either of. In fact, I specifically did not watch those because I didn't want watch her (or Swayze, not a fan of him either). Anyways, after watching the Sunstance one time, I've completely changed my mind. It's my favorite movie of the year, not just horror. I watch a lot of movies an will often forget things I've watched within the year. Like the First Omen, excellent film, I literally thought I watched it in 2023. The Substance is remarkably unforgettable, it's something to talk about. I thought it was going to be this small, unknown gem cult classic, but even my bosses have heard of it and one them has seen it. It made me interested in going back and watching Demi's other films that I previously disregarded as well finally watching the director's other work, Revenge. And the fact that Demi got an award for a film as wild and straight up horror as you can get, amazing. Move over Silence of the Lambs
