I should start a podcast. I've been saying that second line sucks for a while now, while everyone was starstruck with Laine's little one timers on the pp. He is such a lazy and slow player. I would honestly put Gallagher on that line instead to give it some energy. Put Laine on third line against some weaker players. And play pezzeta normally rather than screwing up the lines. And you can all thank me when we win the cup 😎

Thanks for another wonderful show, Shayne and the Great Grant. Grant, you mentioned near the end that roughly 10 Laval players will likely play in the NHL. Have you speculated on who among those roughly 10 players the Habs will likely trade? Hage, Davidson, Beck, and Kapanen cannot all be the 3rd Line centre. And, three of them are righties. Any thoughts?

My big question is, who is going to play alongside this Stud next year? He will be our best skilled player hands down! Do you put him with Slaf and Suzuki or Caufield and Suzuki? Suzuki and him both like to control the play and hang onto the puck so this should be interesting! Regardless we need to make a move or draft something good because the way Dach and Laine are playing , it won’t help him a bit!

Totally agree! I also don't see Demidov playing with Suzuki and I don't see Dach as a centre. IMO, despite both players being rookies, Kapanen could be paired with Demidov. I saw Kapanen play many games in Finland and attended the IIHF games and he is an excellent 2 way player who is also excelling in the SHL. Suzy, CC & Dach (he played extremely well with them a couple of years ago) could be one line and Demidov, Kap and Slaf the 2nd line. Laine is a 3rd liner until his game improves and a PP specialist. If / when Laine is 100% healthy and if his 5 v 5 gets better he can be moved up the line-up. As the team improves a top 6 will be moved to the 3rd line. These things happen with top teams.

Grant, why would Montreal draft McQueen? He has been out injured since the 1st month of the season and there is no indication when he will return. He was due to return in December / early January. Habs avoided a disaster in drafting Lindstrom whom has yet to play a game this season so should stay clear of drafting injured players. Guhle is a great player however he had injury history prior to being drafted and continues to be injury prone in the NHL so why risk drafting a player that can't stay healthy?

They would draft McQueen if he drops and the medical reports ate good. They wioukd draft him because he brings elements that are still needed in the top six long term. More size.

I'm sorry, but there is a reason Laine didn't work out in Winnipeg and Columbus. He just doesn't fit anywhere in the lineup. He is lazy and a major defensive liability. All he's good for is a shot on the powerplay. I'd eat half his contract and hope you can get a late first early second for him at the draft.

He scores 40+ goals a year. He’s in a slump right now, a slump all goal scorers have and he is extremely notorious for. He’ll score 10 goals in the next 10 games and people will change their tune.
