Man you, said it, I said the same thing. When she sings, this song, she will take you to God with her,. Close your eyes, and just climb to heaven with that voice, it was unreal. I loved Whitney, one of my favorites, RIP, I have a feeling , Whitney was tired, all that power, in such a small frame, over all those years, seem like would have worn, anyone out, that was human. She gave her life and her beautiful voice, to the public, which was a great sacrifice, and all they ever bring up is a drug habit. I don't believe , she killed herself, or overdosed. The lady, that was a friend when to get her cupcakes,. She said I only was gone 30 min, Water running all over, and why, would she be face down. Something wasn't right abt, none of that, and they saw , Ray J, running down the hall, from her room, he used to be her runner. Then she gave a note to his sister Brandy the day she died. Something was on that note, cause Brandy, looked at her real funny. They all were sitting their her and Clive and Monica, like they had been talking abt her. Brandy, wouldn't tell anyone, what was on that note. Clive I wouldn't be surprised if he knew. Why would you still have a party, after one of the Best Artist, he ever had is deceased upstairs. CRAZY. Anyway Bobbi Kris, in tub, too, God knows what happen even if they sugar coat it to us. RIP Whitney, God will take care of you.

When you see her mouth tremble when she sings you know she is in the zone, Whitney mastered her voice and that is the gift of an anointed singer, but God gave this child not only an anointed voice but he gave her one of the keenest ears, its like her voice is a fine tuned Steinway piano, or a stradavarius violin so rare precious but oh so sweet to the ears. Many think if they can do a run or inflection like Whitney they are up for the challenge these elements are just the tip of her talent if you have a trained ear for beautiful music Whitney is a master of all the techniques, 1) resonance, 2) Vibrato, 3) Colorature 4)inflections 5) scaling up and down 6) natural 7)falsetto or soft soprano for a woman 8) throat, diaphram and head singing 9) Crescendo and decrescendo and breath control 10) staccato and perfect diction. With all of these mastered in one voice how can you not be the "Voice" many people can't master half of these in one life time and she mastered all 10. This girl can hold a note and before letting this last air run out no how to close it out and inhale and start with the next note....Truely uncomparable, don't get me wrong Aretha can sang, but even Aretha couldn't hold a candlestick to Whitney sorry! She is the voice of all voices! That gift will not be passed out for a very long time...especially in that magnitude!

I'm a guy I have a natural alto voice and it was hard to find a lot of guy songs to sing, Whitney Houston was my vocal coach. I was blessed to meet her at a concert. When I listen to a singer I listen to everything from the way their voice blends with the music, how they blend with the background vocals, especially their vibrato, and the difficulty in their inflections, not many can glide over 4 notes (glissando) and round it off with a natural inflection. Being a man I can do a lot with my voice that many men can't do, and it's because this special lady I studied her like she was a subject in school for 25 years. I learned how to separate a persons life from their talent and she was special. It really took me a about 1 1/2 year to accept it. I was angry when I heard the news, because I felt she did this on purpose. She went through millions on drugs and she smoked Newport 100's the worst....and I felt she was depressed because she had to try to accept she destroyed what God gave her and that was her money maker. If you listen to her last album, she burned out her top register, and you can tell what voice she had left she put it all in the last album. There was no coming back from that but I kept praying. But sometimes the devil had such a stronghold on her, and she would sing gospel to hold on to God's hand. Even though everyone said that Bobby wasn't good for her, Whitney loved him, no matter how much they fight that was her heart. When he left she felt she had nothing, so many people loved her but it wasn't enough for her! I feel as though she said "fuck it" if she is going to go out, it will be on her terms. This is only my opinion it's not gospel truth, but she was a troubled soul, and it still makes me cry to know that she stopped loving herself and it was depression, cocaine cause deep depression! But I am blessed to know that if I ever heard an angel sing it would sound like her. I really miss her so much.........:'(

One of Nippy's most technically accomplished performances. Every note is properly placed; every word properly enunciated. Her upper belts here remind you that even though other singers have similar, or even wider, ranges, their belts can never approximate the sheer silk and steel beauty of Whitney's. Add to these the sheer inspiration and fervor with which she sings the song and you've got yourself a performance that will withstand the test of time. Here is The Voice, folks, and nothing but.

Thank you for wonderfully describing the beauty of Whitney's vocal delivery in this particular performance. Mulling over it, I would say that she was able to give this level of tonal bravado and emotive weight because of her rock solid foundation in gospel and soul. It's truly a marvel, though, when we consider that many gospel singers never had the technical prowess and pitch precision of Whitney Houston. She offered a stunning combination of high technicality and legitimate soul, which made her no less than the Greatest Voice of All.

When Whitney sang gospel, her anointing was on full display. God yielded His spirit through her, His glory resonated and He truly resided in her heart. This single performance was not about show boating or bragging, this was her singing to an audience of one. She was truly anointed to sing the gospel. She was trying to get back to that place. R3DH4WT we all have our preferences right lol. to me, her performance of "I am changing" is just so epic. she sounds like a lone warrior using her voice as a weapon to destroy everything around her. the band playing, and the epic drumming adds to it. but yes this performance here is also brilliant, more of a hymn. very subdued, yet powerful and soul stirring. what a brilliant vocalist she was in her prime.

+Derek Jones What is a gift of God? It is this voice! Therefore, there is no one to compare! I am seen in a video on KZbin right here, in an interview with Whitney for Rosie O'Donnell, who as a baby she had torn the roof of the mouth by a hook and that the doctors told her mother that maybe she could never speak. Well, she can speak, the better she can still sing and sing like no one else! Whitney's voice was a little miracle, a taste of what heaven reservation!

I was always a die-hard Whitney fan, I have watched this video, and every other one that's been made about her, since my space on KZbin came out, or like on the movie, when they show certain performances, I can take people write to them, like the last Melody that she did in 94, when Reba McEntire and Will Smith introduced her, she says I love you and she sung I love you porgy, and I am telling you I'm not going, then I have nothing, like I know them all, one of my favorites is when she sang lover boy, and all the men I need together, she murdered it, and her mother really was so proud of her, she just always wanted her to do the right thing, as far as getting clean and that sort of thing, but I know the temptations once you've already tried them, because people will beg you down there to try something, and then once you're hooked, they will walk over you, when you're dead in withdrawal, nobody in their right mind is going to go through that, if they have the money to get well, I know what it's like to work with a drug habit, I show up to work over to all my work sober, and then I go home and don't come out of my room full of work, I know it all too well, but what I also know is that only God can judge me, and no matter what she was human, and her mother was always always proud of her, and damn it so was I.

My favorite performance ever. As always, complete control. Check out her right foot, she counts beat while simultaneously singing with total fluidity. I noticed this many times when I saw her live, and is evidenced on many live videos. Not only a singer's singer, but a musician's singer as well. Fully aware, and usually controlling, the tempo and key of the music, while having total respect for it. My Nippy, THE pinnacle of the definition "singer", a genius of her craft on so many levels.

In later years (more so outside of her prime, but also sometimes in her prime, she would wiggle her fingers frequently and it usually corresponded to a run or Melisma.....why do you think she did that? I think I have seen some other singers do this as well.
@stone8193
@stone8193 6 жыл бұрын
2008bscott what do you mean why lol? It was just a Whitney trademark mannerism. Every singer has them when getting into the song enough. What I like about whitneys is even when they seem odd, I never perceive them that way, because her performance and emotion is ALWAYS genuine, unlike Mariah, where sometimes you get the feeling Mariah is saying with her body language "yeah I'm such a diva rocking this shit" etc. Whitney was above that. She sang for the song. Always

The thing about Whitney is that she communicates God’s voice through her mouth. You can almost hear God through her words, her complex phrases, and her richness. There was something so profound about her voice that you’ll never find again. Whether that’s her tone, her control over dynamics, her head voice, etc. there was obviously something special. And you knew it whenever you heard it. We’ll always love Whitney. She gave the world the gift of music. She communicated so much with us. Her music and her legacy will live forever.

There is a legend about a bird which sings just once in its life, more sweetly than any other creature on the face of the earth. From the moment it leaves the nest it searches for a thorn tree, and does not rest until it has found one. Then, singing among the savage branches, it impales itself upon the longest, sharpest spine. And, dying, it rises above its own agony to outcarol the lark and the nightingale. One superlative song, existence the price. But the whole world stills to listen, and God in His heaven smiles. For the best is only bought at the cost of great pain… Or so says the legend...That SONGBIRD/ THORNBIRD...IS GODS FINEST MS.WHITNEY HOUSTON.!!!!. R.I.P. NIPPY 🐱

Whitney heard her mom blowing the whole time that she was inside of her. Whitney feels music. Just like she did in Cissy's womb. Her mom is standing there looking so proud.I know that as well as Whitney's voice being annointed her mom is thinking, I've taught her well.This is a beautiful moment. Look at God!
