Hey man I really like how that all worked out for you and the customer.

Tell ya boy who is feeding from Infront of the feed table to GTF away and feed from the side unless who wants to be pulled through.

Your right to be concerned, machines in the past (Chuck and duck) would rip stuff through. These new machines pull the material through at a safer, steady pace.

Avoid the new 2023 BC1000XL at all costs! Vermeer chose to adopt a new all-electronic control panel that fails after about 17 hours. We were on the jobsite, surrounded by prepped and stacked slash, and the engine starts (it is a Deutz, after all) but the control panel, after flashing the Vermeer logo, goes black. Dead in the water. Zero indication about what the problem is on the LCD screen. In fact, after the logo flashed, nothing.... With all of the sensors and firmware, one would think that it would at least give you SOME INDICATION of what the problem is. Nope. Stick with another brand or an older model with mechanical switches. At least those won't fail you on the job, and if they do, you can still work. Very expensive paperweight.

I don't mean to nit pick your well made video but there is some safety feedback I'd like to extend to you, as someone with experience in the arboricultural industry. As stated by someone else below, the arbor workers working the chippers in this video were standing directly in front of the feed-zone. This is not following proper chipper safety guidelines and doing so can put an arbor worker in a very dangerous position if one happens to get caught up in material getting dragged into the roller. Its best to feed chippers from the side of the feeding chute with at least 3/4th your body outside the feed-zone with the remaining 1/4th helping to guide material into the roller and backing away once the material is safely taken in. Just a good tip for anyone who happens to stumble upon this random video like I did 🤓

Your right, and we definitely train the technique your referring to. these were very small pieces of arborvitae and you will notice when he feeds a larger piece he feeds from the side as you described.

That chipper doesn't have a clutch. Just pointing it out.

What do you think the thing he pulled down on was ????
@kingof9569410 ай бұрын
@Original_Jakob It's a lever that moves the driveline directly onto the belt. It's not a clutch.

@@kingof95694I can’t believe ppl are this braindead im renting one as we speak😭 $1100 a week the lever might not be the clutch but when you pull the lever it engages the clutch to power on and speed up the blades if you actually looked up what a clutch was or read a safety guidelines before renting

Dont waste your time. Buy a bc 1200 with winch. We did. Best thing we ever done. Its good for small brush and good for crane jobs. It will take a 13 inch log. Unless it is not in your budget.

Thanks for your advice. I would like to get one with a winch but I have a 14” diesel Morbark that I have been really happy with.

@@oneministries4878 oh sweet. Yes the 1000 would make a good small chipper then. Stay safe!

I could load that 6 times as fast with a mini excavator and a 16foot dump trailer or a 14 foot doesnt matter really ive been cutting trees for 30 years and i ran a chipper for 10 of those until i found out i could go way faster with a excavator dump trailer once i got good i could fly through a tree dont waste your time on a chipper if you have the money get a good mini excavator with a good dump trailer and a 2500 diesel it will save you time and money
@oneministries48783 жыл бұрын
I agree, that would be way faster, thanks for the tip. I admit I do enjoy dumping the chips for free at customers homes and there is some satisfaction in watching the branches that gave me so much trouble getting out of the backyard getting blown to “chiperines” in the front🤓

Nope. You can fit 4 times more material in your trailer if its chipped. Everyone has their own way of doing things. We chip into a grapple truck and load the big stuff with the grapple. But were only a small family owned 3 man operation
@kevinmcquitery4543 Жыл бұрын
Our dump charges $60 per load and the round trip usually takes 45 minutes. Time is money and chipping it is much faster in the long run plus we sell the chips for $150 per load in my dump trailer.
