It was exactly my plan to have an ammo case heater in an insulated fishing tent for winter camping!! So glad this idea has been tried and tested!!! Thank you!

Do you have a link to the little burner that fits inside, or maybe the brand and model of it?

Awesome. Exactly what I’m thinking of doing for my RV here in the PNW for the winter where it doesn’t get super cold but a Buddy Heater isn’t very good because it adds moisture.

wood is often free. coal is sometimes free too. is there a good way to switch heat sources in that stove, depending on whats availabile for free at the moment?

Nice work and it looks phenomenal. I saw someone asked about buying it, and you quoted $150 + post. That's a screaming good price considering your material cost + time. I'm building a version- what are your thoughts on adding stainless steel mesh above flame in a circular (tube) shape to capture heat and cast infrared? Keep uo great posts!

Have you used the wood stove with this still plumbed in flew? be intrested to see how / if could leave it together. Love this idea for milder weather.

I did burn one small fire in wood stove just to see how the propane stove would react to the wood fire smoke. I would not do this on a regular basis because some wood I burn has sticky resins in the smoke that might plug up my ammo can burner. I guess experimenting with this idea makes sense because wood smoke is unburn fuel which can be burned more in the propane burner flame thus improving fuel efficiency of the wood burning.

I would like to see how good it heats with a temp change in the tent or room.

Humbly, did you change out the gasket to a heat resistant model?

Yes, fiberglass stove door gasket with 2000°F gasket sealant.
