Why this was such a rare instrument with a limited manufacturing run eludes me. I would think an honest to God electromechanical piano that fits in the trunk of a sedan would be one of the most popular products ever.

whaat, they made them for a good few years, these turn up pretty regularly

They were really limited though, no sustain mechanism, and the whole sticky pad design was honestly kind of stupid. But they sound fantastic
@darwinsaye3 жыл бұрын
Nick Haldin The T doesn’t have sticky pads like the N model. Just a rubber pad that when it lifts off the reed and lets it vibrate. I bought the new design pads from vintage vibe for mine and they give a stronger pull.

Just picked up a Pianet T in a local fleamarket. It needs some TLC, but I'm impressed with the sound and the feel of the keys. Seems to play smoother than the Rhodes I had many years ago. I paid about $70.

The Wurlitzer sounds phenomenal, but I was never able to fix the Pianet T. It's still sitting under my bed unfortunately. Hopefully someday it will find a good home. These were used on "The In Sound From Way Out" by the Beastie Boys" as well as probably countess other recordings. Thanks for posting this!

one thing i noticed right away (thru accidentally breaking the wire) that the wire connecting all the pickups is very fragile. If you are getting no sound, you most likely have a break or short in that wire. just food for thought =0)

Better tone here than any pianet T I've ever played. Each time I've played one it was always too bell-like and lacking in dynamics, this one sounds nice and beefy. Still, I'm more of a fan of the pianet N than the T. The N is a classic and I love it's sharp tone.

Some pedal company should create something like a sustain-synthesizer. It'd capture the instrument's audio when pressed down and have it slowly decay, maybe even with a variable time and wet/dry signal setting.
